Hugs and prayers for Terry

                                                      
I have a prayer request for those of you who would like to join us.  Our son in law, who is relatively young (late 50's) had a massive stroke on Fri.  All efforts to remove the clot failed, but thankfully tests reveal minimal swelling and bleeding.  Mobility on the left side is greatly limited, but his speech is fairly good.  We cannot go there because of my husband's severe pain, so that is hard.  Our daughter and grandchildren need our prayer support also.  I will be making him more cards!  This image is from Dearie Doll.  The sentiment is in my file but I could not find a source.  Papers are DCWV, and the oval dies are Spellbinders.

 This is a digi that I labelled "anonymous" in my file.  It has been there a long time and I think that was a digi company.  I colored the image with Prismas.  I printed a second image and cut out and colored the blossoms to add dimension.

Christmas 2015 #27

This was a very hard sketch for me - perhaps more so because I was using it for a Christmas card, and did not want too busy a look.  The DP is Paper Pizzazz, with a blue that has a purple tinge to it.   I punched the snowflakes, and used a Cheery Lynn branch die for the finishing touch - as well as a few sequins that could be considered antiques!  The stamp is Rubber Stampede.  The Christmas season is a favorite - first of all, Joy in celebrating the birth of Christ; then the Joy in family, decorations, being in touch with old friends through cards - and so much more.  This card is 4.5 x 4.5.  (Sorry for the strange layout - the appearance in "edit" is quite different from the final result.)

Christmas 2015 #21

I thought I had nearly enough cards completed (I only send hand made cards to a few family members) - but we had a bazaar at church on Saturday, and several of the Christmas cards sold!  So I am back at it!  I had been using shimmery cream and green, but there is not much green cs left.  Also, I wanted to use this shimmery silver, and I was not happy with the green and silver - decided I like the dark grey instead - especially with the silhouette.  The red ribbon adds a bit of holiday color.  The sentiment is computer generated, and the image Stampendous.  I added silver half pearls in addition to the ribbon - and some clear glitter to the snowflakes.
 Note:  The CRAFT challenge is for a Christmas present  - these are the gifts of the Magi to the best Christmas present of all, the Christ child.

Distressed Vintage

Our friends are celebrating a milestone anniversary, and I thought the challenge to use hearts would be appropriate - as well as the distressing!  In addition to the die cut hearts, there are hearts in the embossed portion - one one each side has been left uncovered but nearly impossible to see here.  All of the edges are distressed, and I added tiny flowers with pearls, some gems, and a bit of lace.  The CS is all from a huge packet from Costco.

Anniversary greeting

A friend bought several of my anniversary cards (and more) - so I have a gap in my stash!  I struggle to make these cards fairly neutral - not too frilly and not too masculine!  I hope this color scheme is not too somber for a happy occasion.  The stamp is an old one by Endless Creations, and I used some cream colored scraps I have had around for a while - the embossing is on a shiny piece.  The dry embossing and die cuts provide texture.  The bird is a Cheery Lynn die.

This is  Country Garden by High Hopes, colored with Prismas.  It is to send to a friend who is undergoing chemo - even with the flowers I hope the fibers and plaid make it look masculine.  The cord is almost the same textiure as the burlap.

Embossed anniversary

The following sketch was more of a challenge for me than usual, but I am happy with the results.  I even got good advice from DH - and followed it LOL!!!  The embossed pieces are from a Sizzix set (I have forgotten the name.)  I used the middle part of the A2 folder.  I divided the "with love" strip. Teal chalk enhances the embossing.   The die cut is from a CB border I have had a long time - the flowers at the bottom are part of the die.  I cut in both teal and white, and layered them - that just gives a bit of an edge IRL, and adds dimension.  Tiny pearls create the center of the flowers  The white flowers are Petaloo.  No name on the dp - it has long been in my stash.

Sunny summer holiday

I have spent a lot of my stamping time this summer filling orders from friends/customers.  In fact, this is for an order that I have had to set aside, and it is time to get to work.  A friend, close to 90, still travels from place to place according to the season -though no longer in her RV.  She does spend several months each year at an RV resort near Kino Bay, Mexico - with her boy friend!  I have some humorous "inside" verses she likes, and she requested that I make several cards for her girl friends - I think this is a perfect image - they will have a giggle from it.  The image is in my stash of items from friends at Wish RAK (SCS) so I do not know the name.  I used Prismas in colors to match the DCWV Summer DP, and the backing is a deep burgundy.  There is glitter on the hats and glasses (as well as on me), and a sparkly center for each flower.  I used my Cuttlebug to cut the rectangle scalloped die,  My computer has been cropping (on its own) the top - there is also a half sun tucked in the corner - it is from the CB Olivia die set.

B&W with coral

I wanted to use this image, and I also wanted to do the color challenge (see below), so I did some paper piecing of the chair to limit the colors.  I discovered that this image is really a challenge to piece 0 the pattern needs to have a lot of white in order to see where to cut.  I think I managed ok.  The ribbon is tied for the dimension needed.

Springy get well, Marilyn

I just learned a friend has been hospitalized and is quite ill.  I recently received a prize from Beccy's Place - including both B&W and colored images.  I have seldom used pre-colored ones, but they certainly are nice for quick cards!  The flowers here were not colored, so I used a Spica pen for shimmer.  The DP is a previous prize from Chris at AMuse.  The flowers are from Petaloo, with crystals added.

Bella goes back to school

I have almost no "back to school" items with me, but Bella looks all set to return to the classroom - she needs a back pack for all those books LOL!!!  She is colored with chalk pencils, and trimmed with gold rain drops.  The bg is dry embossed with the Diamond folder (CB).

Another boy's card

Another of  my cards for a boy (I added a couple of others to my SCS gallery, not here).  It is also another of my seemingly endless supply from my stash, and unmarked, as is too often the case.  I colored with prismas and metallic gel pens.  The image is stamped on unknown textured cs, which resulted in a pattern on the shirt and shorts, as well as the balls - a result I like.  The DP is ChatterBox, the button from my button box, and bakers twine from Paper Pizzazz.  The ribbon is from a number of rolls I got at a yard sale at a great price.

Caught a bug?

I hope this critter helps someone to feel better.  I think I heard that green is not a good color for get well, but I think this is kind of a cheery green.  What do you think?  A friend who is no longer stamping gave me a bunch of pre-stamped images, so I am not sure who makes this.  Any help? I used Prismas for coloring. I did a computer generated sentiment, and tied it on with twine from Pizzazz Aplenty.  The DP comes from the DCWV Garden Party stack.
