O Holy Night

I don't have many "musical" supplies, but this is one of my favorite Carols, and the Allegro EF also has music. I also used the Snowflake EF.  The stamp is Studio G, but the label also says Hampton Art.  The dies are Labels 4 (Spellbinders).

CAD Colorful Strips

Thank goodness for challenges!  All summer I could not keep up with card making as I was selling quite a few at our weekly craft sales.  Now I have excellent internet connections, and a fair amount of time, but no immediate outlet for cards.  I appreciate having challenges to keep my interest - and it is good to build up my stash.
In addition to completing challenges, I am trying to accomplish a couple of goals.  I need to use more of my oversupply of materials.  (can you see how many I used here?  LOL!!)  I also need to try new techniques and styles.
For this card I used Buttercup cs by the Paper Company.  The corner punch is one of my first paper crafting purchases - the label says Family Treasure.  I think most of the scraps are Basic Grey - including the butterflies.  The flower is Sandylion Essentials - a couple of years ago I got a whole box of these embellishments, and a lot more for just a few dollars, at a store closing.  The sentiment is from a grab bag - it could be DRS.

and finally, our Card a Day blogger's Group has a weekly challenge.  This week it is to use a card by one of the group as inspiration.  Mine is from Nathalia:  http://d28studios.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-kind-of-great-outdoors.html
I especially liked her creative way to use paper strips and stickers. Below is her inspiration card:

Special greeting

This is a greeting that works for sending RAK cards to strangers.  I tried it with soft colors.  I used a bit of Orchard Harvest for the swirls.  The border punch is EKSuccess.  I used the negative flowers, and sponged the sentiment.
Sentiment only:  http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/

It has been a while since I expressed my appreciation to so many bloggers and stampers for providing these challenges, and for DT members who diligently check out our cards and make comments.  Thanks also to Feline Playful for listing so many challenges.

Fishing, Catching?

I like this guy (Rubbernecker) with his bemused look - and I will have need of fishing cards this summer!  I colored with watercolor pencils. The dp is ProvoCraft, and the bg is embossed with distressed stripes.  I used a couple of stickers t the top, and die cut with Nesties.  I laced twine to add to the rustic look.

May means fishing!

For hubby especially, May brings thoughts of fishing.  He probably will not actually get the boat in the water until June, but preparations are well under way!
The spring and green are obvious, but the bling does not show well.  The flowers are grass green and covered with glitter (Petaloo).  I also used Twinkling H2O inks (with an aqua brush) so they sparkle IRL.  The image is by Penny Black, and the banner letters are the Cuttlebug Olivia set.  The green mat is dry embossed with the CB bubble folder.  I used twine for the bow and to hang the letters (by Pizzazz Aplenty).

Floral sympathy in blue grey

I like sympathy cards in soft colors and without too many embellishments.  I felt this sketch worked well for me.  I still have lots of this DP - from a pad from Big Lots.  The image is Hampton Art, and sentiment Rubber Stampede (I really need more sympathy sentiments - I should have had a smaller one here.)  I have had my SU Stampin' Spots for a long time and most are still good.  This is Brocade Blue.  I added some clear crystals.

I chose one of the optional sketches - thttp://sundaysketchandstamp.blogspot.com/
I used a pastel blue palette:  http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/
