DT card for QKR Stampede challenge #244 - ATG: option- Things with Wings

The challenge this week at QKR Stampede is the usual Anything Goes.  The option this week is "Things with Wings".  You may enter up to 3 times by 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24.  If you are a winner you might be the owner of this snazzy gal, or one of the other great QKR digis.  You may win even more images if you use a QKR stamp.  This image is called "Looking Pretty" - guess that depends on your point of view!  I dressed her up in pink, and used scraps of DP, Spellbinder dies, an embossing folder and gems to complete the look.  The top layer of each flower uses the corresponding DP.  It does not show on the screen, but I used a new-to-me product to enhance the flowers and the lady's feathery parts.  I need to explain... at a yard sale, I purchased a jar of what I thought was silver glitter.  When I opened the jar, it was a silvery paint - rather thin and full of glitter.  It is called Glitter Specialty finish by Martha Living.  I used a fine paint brush to cover the selected parts, and I really like the result IRL.  Bonus - it dries very quickly.   Anyone familiar with this product - do you know how it is meant to be used?

DT card for Eureka # 194 - Pretty in Pink

This week the challenge at Eureka Stamps is to use pink. You have until 6pm EDT on Sunday, May 29 to post up to 3 entries, and you have a chance to win digis - more if you use a stamp from Eureka.  I selected this cutie - Shy Girl.  I also chose the sentiment from the Eureka digi selection.  Our church pre-school partners with members as prayer partners, and this would be a good card to use for a prayer partner.
I used a subtle pattern of DP to paper piece the dress, but colored the sleeves.  As I was working on the fussy cutting, I realized the pink DP gave a reddish pink highlight to the hair, so went for a trendy hair do.  The mat for the image is from a Spellbinders Labels die. I used a light dusting of glitter on the outer borders, but of course there are a few sprinkles here and there on the rest of the card.  Little girls love glitter!  I also added a "JOY" brad.
Please stop by the Eureka blog to check out the other fabulous DT inspiration cards, and join us this week -  Eureka Stamps Blogspot.

For Victoria, with an envelope

.
I rarely make square cards because of the extra postage.  However, this will be hand delivered - so bumpy embellishments and square shape will work.  My teen aged granddaughter asked me to make a card for her friend - in pink, with a kitty and glitter.  The image is from http://sliekje.blogspot.com/.  Angelique periodically adds images, mostly cats - all are freebies.  Thank you for your generosity and keep on drawing!  I colored with Prismas and metallic gel pens.  The animal DP is from a pad I found at Big Lots - the checked section is the reverse of the double sided paper.  The polka dots is a sheet I have had for a long time.  No pattern for the envelope - I decided to wing it, but using a pattern would have been easier I am sure.  There is glitter on the flowers and her name - which is easier to see IRL.  There are 3 deep pink rain drops at the top right and narrow gold metallic sticker strips to set off the various papers.

This IS pink

Sorry about the color - IRL the paisley has various shades of pink, and the polka dots are also pink.  The mat is eggplant, not black.  The stamps are both from an old set by SU - Etruscan.  It has a nice variety of stamps I like a lot but forget to use - or just have so many others that I cannot possibly make good use of all of them.  I tried something new for the "flower".  The cut outs from the fancy circle were spread out on my desk, so I decided to try to put them together - and I am very pleased with the result.  It does get pretty thick where all the points meet, so I just used a sequin for a flat center.  There is glitter added, as well as the pink drops in the corners.

Celebrating Mom

This Tilda With Heart is holding a heart to greet her mom!  She is colored with Prismas, and metallic pens for her leggings.   The mats, button die cut, and letters are from eggplant cs.  The swirly ef is Cuttlebug, and the pink dot cs is DCWV - part of a great prize I just received through Hiding in my Craft Room (You will see a lot of this in future posts.)

Pink Heart Birthday

Something old and a new beginning...
THe birthday stamp is one I have had for several years - one of my first stamps (no name).  The AMuse checked and pink cs has also been in my collection for a while.  I used it for a new beginning in my card making - trying to vary my style a bit.  Pink has definitely not been my style!  Also, the Nesties are a new beginning - Labels 5 just arrived in my mailbox.  The lace and heart die are also oldies.

All pink and shiny

This image, from A Day for Daisies, is perfect for pink and feminine!  I used shiny gel pens for her dress - and I think she looks like she is dressed for school - maybe a party today?  I used a button die and added some AMuse pink and white twine.  The silver metallic rick rack came from a box at a yard sale - I got a lot of it for almost nothing!  The gems in the corner are pink.

Humor in Pink

The image and sentiment are from Gina K - the inside says: "Getting lucky means you found your car in the parking lot."  I colored with Prismas, and added a bit of glitter to her pendant and th flower.  The lace is from Pizzazz Aplenty.  I added misc. ribbon and rhinestones.  The embossing is a CB folder.

Prom Dress?

I see a dress like this (SU - Blooming with Happiness) and I think of Prom - but I doubt it would show up at any of today's festivities LOL!!!   I did all the flowers with shiny gel pens.  The DP is Paper Studio (IRL it IS pink), and the bg cs is Recollections metallic.

Soft and Pretty kitty

The image is Penny Black; not sure of the sentiment.  The DP is from a stack by DCWV.  The DP, white circles and much of the pink are scraps from my over filled baggies.  In order to get the words to fit, I embossed small pieces of pink in my :"You" cb folder.  I used a button brad tied with a bit of pink thread.

I added some doodle stitching, and the dots of the DP include faux stitching within each one, for this challenge:  http://delightfulsketches.blogspot.com/
