Guest Designer at High Hopes

High Hopes sketch - Challenge 188

How exciting!  This is the card I created as a guest designer for the challenge this week at High Hopes - so appropriate, as sketches are probably my favorite challenge - nearly every one of my cards has a sketch challenge as the starting point.   I used a previous prize from High Hopes - Country Garden.  The pinks are an inspiration from Stamping Sensations.  Coloring is by Prismas.  Another favorite technique is to sponge embossing (CB Happy Birthday folder) with chalk.  Both DP patterns are by My Minds Eye.  Some butterflies (Marvy) complete the card.  It is 4.5 x 6.25, since it is a large image.  This card is already on its way to my sister-in-law, who enjoys her garden a lot.

Special Day in blue and brown

I just received an order of papers from Paper Wishes - a sort of grab bag that includes colors I really like.  This light brown with a hint of blue has lots of possibilities for me.  The scroll is Baroque Motifs (SU) and the sentiment from another favorite - a Recollections set.  I added drops from the Robins Nest and some ribbon.  All is backed with SU - Choc Chip?

CAS Summer on the beach

Clean and Simple is not easy for me, but I think this vintage look image from my Wish RAK stash - origin unknown - works well.  She is colored with Prismas - including subtle coloring of the beach, water and sky.  The mat is a blue grey cs.

Purple and white floral

The purple, white and flowers were inspired by the lovely vase at the Cheery Lynn challenge.  I used three CB embossing folders and nesties ovals as well as the Cheery Lynn butterfly.  The stamp is Studio G, and the flowers are Petaloo.

Monochromatic Masculine #2

Birthday Blessings

I am sending birthday blessings to a friend who needs this special wish.
I struggled with the colors of this challenge - cappuccino, slate and burlap - the bg of the bird, and the Marth Stewart scallops, look more like burlap IRL than on the screen!  I used a swirly Sizzix embossing folder, and the bird is Studio G.

Spring butterfly

I got to use a bit of DP (DCWV) that I have had in my stash for a long time - good!  The butterfly is by Cheery Lynn, backed by a Labels I die (Spellbinders) and the flourish from Spellbinders.  I added ribbon, a bit of glitter, and sentiment from the Rubber Cafe.
