This is another card I made to honor this week's queen at SplitCoastStampers - to be revealed later today. It is a pretty accurate case - something I rarely do! I did emboss the bg - this time I just "bit the bullet" so to speak, and used the HB folder "sideways" - figured it did not matter a lot as most of it is covered - especially the cake and candles that would not do well tipped over LOL! Has any company heard my plea for a landscape HB folder? I have practically worn this one out...
The bubbly DP is Paper Pizazz, and the other is Provo Craft. The dark CS is navy Recollections. The sentiment has become separated and I am not sure of the origin. I used Oval Nesties, and a Martha Stewart punch.

Soft florals with wings
It is somewhat "outside the box" for me to do a card without dark mats separating the layers - but, here goes! The embossed frame does have a bit of white ink - which I applied directly to the folder. The Garden Collage (SU) image is sponged with lavender and pink chalk. I used an aqua brush and Twinkling H20 for the butterfly, and applied stickles for some sparkle. The strip is a sheer floral ribbon, and I tied the sentiment (CTMH) with some shiny cord - used glue and glitter to create a jewel to keep the cord tied. The butterfly is CCDesigns. It is cut from a scrap of scrolly pink paper from my recycle box - think it came from an ad. The corners are punched with a Martha Stewart corner punch. This card will go to the recipient for this week's SCS TeaPot Tuesday challenge.
Included for challenges: soft colors, butterflies, flowers (on ribbon and part of the image); CB Scrollworks EF available from Joan's Gardens shop, embossing (cuttlebug), ribbon, sentiment, punch, die cut
My apologies: this blog is not cooperating this morning. I will return and try to fix it.

Darla's baptism
In our church we practice infant baptism. On Sunday, parents who are not members of our church brought their year old daughter to be baptized. This is a cause for celebration and most definitely a new beginning. These colors are not very frilly/feminine for a little girl, but I wanted to use some of the DP from the Paper Studio Faith collection - I think the butterscotch cs helps to lighten it. I used the Spellbinder Majestic Elements ovals, I am trying different ways to use this set. You can see that i used a middle sized die for the main verse. The layer under is cut with the same die and the next larger - which creates two pieces. I put them back together with tiny bits of scotch tape., and adhered this to the bg square. Oh, yes - I used a piece of DP the same color as the square with crosses - since I wanted contrast I sponged burgundy ink to match the DP designs. The scallops are a Martha Stewart punch, The main verse is SU, and the blessings is a part of a sticker from Dazzles (Hot off the Press.) I have a special verse for the inside, including her name.

Timely masculine B'day card
I am continuing to try to incorporate ideas I see on various blogs. This time, I attempted to create a shabby bg - which is not showing here (the Happy birthday layer is NOT shiny, but shabby. I sponged through a stencil and lightly stamped with stamps from the Nostalgique (EK Success) set - which includes the clock. Next I embossed the HB folder. The bg layer is embossed with argyle on white core cs. I also sponged the cord with Ranger Distress ink. I have lots of favorite dies - circles are right at the top of the list! The border is a Martha Stewart punch. I have a question for you - does any one else have MS punches that cause problems? Mine seem to lose the "spring" and fail to punch through each time, and then do not release properly. Major disappointment!

Vintage, in Sympathy
I used this pattern paper and the Textile embossing folder (Cuttlebug) to give this card a vintage feel. (The textile reminds me of the textured tin ceilings - a restaurant we used to frequent had one), I used a scrap of glossy cream CS for the embossed piece and the sentiment - though the ink does not take well. I added small strips of paper with a hand made look, and placed turquoise ribbon over that. It has been a long time since I tried the "faux bow" and I am not sure I did it correctly. (I made two parallel slits, and threaded the ribbon - first down, then up through the opposite slit.)
It is my first time to use this Verve set, New Mercies, my recent prize at Mojo Monday - yeah!
