The Crafter's Cafe - Challenge 254 - Just for Fun
The current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is just for fun - let us see your newest creations. I really like vintage images, and selected this one from TLC for a card for my sister - she has 2 or 3 of the most modern sewing machines, for quilting but probably learned on one similar to this.On a personal note - I am asking for your prayers. I have started another round of chemo for endometrial cancer. So far I have not had side effects which is a blessing. Unfortunately I have some other health issues and must take a med that makes me very tired, and takes away my ambition - hence I have been mostly MIA the past few months.

For my sister - version 2
Another card for my sister who long ago had dreams of being a concert violinist - and who has played in several orchestras. The image is one of so many freebies posted by TLC in Facebook. I used papers from a collection called Heirloom, and added a bit of gold cord. Too late for Christmas, but I made a couple to send to my sister - maybe she can use them as notecards. I forgot to measure, and they went in the mail today, but they are about 5x7. I cut the image with decorative scissors.

Z fold for birthdays
These are two cards I made for my sister and sister-in-law. (The top view is card one and the bottom two views are the two sides of the second card. The backing is double sided cs, and most of the images are freebies from TLC. I especially wanted to use the main image of #1 - an ad for a Dometic sewing machine. My sister has 3 fancy machines, I think, and I thought she would enjoy the humor and vintage feel. Sorry the photo is not better = I thought I had more - but the card has been sent off so too late to correct! The main verse says "So far this is the oldest you have ever been, so eat, drink and be merry.."

DT card for QKR Stampede #304 - for Cheryl
This image with an old fashioned look is perfect for my sister-in-law whose birthday is next week. She loves to read - summer or winter! You may submit up to 3 entries by 6 p.m. Thursday. Winners receive digis from the store.
The papers I used are from an old pack from Costco, and I used oval Spellbinder dies.

SCS DTGD - another entry - giogio's challenge 50th anniv
I like the look of the ivory and gold. The ivory is shimmery cs from Michaels. This was origially posted to ;my SCS gallery on Aug. 7. Image by Eureka. I used script and swiss dot embossing folders as well as a bit of rose DP and a square gold gem for more elegance.

For Saidey, Barb's prayer partner
At our church, members are encouraged to partner with students at our pre-school. A friend asked me to make valentines for her partners. I am kind of out of the habit of making valentines for pre-school age, so I had to dig deep in my RAK file to find this image. I googled and found lots of plain hearts, so printed this large one for the bg, and I printed the sentiment. I am (not so) patiently waiting for an order of new goodies. In the meantime, the pink papers are from a newly acquired stash of not so interesting packs of cardstock!

Christmas 2015 #26
First of all - can any one answer this question? I usually use GP 110 cs (from WalMart) for card bases - I prefer to use the computer to print verses on the inside. Some one told me that Recollection 110 (Michaels) is better - I got some - but it will not go through the printer. My question - both say 110, but the Recollections seems twice as thick. I thought 110 referred to weight and would be the same. What does 110 really mean? (I had anticipated the printer problem so am not overly disappointed - will just have to be more creative with those inside verses.)
Now to this card: DP - Faith collection by the Paper Studio; snowflake folder (CB); stamp by Stampabilities. It has a date of 2008 - I am sure I have not had it that long, but it has been in my collection for a few years - have not used it much recently.

View through the gate
I took way too long trying some new things and working out the details of this card. Am I the only one that does this?
Technique - lots of sponging (doesn't show up very well on edges). Behind the gate - I sponged several different colors on shimmery cs, then stamped over this.
Stamp - Inkadinkado; gate - Marianne die; flowers - Cuttlebug (part of a border die); leaves - Sizzix; Cuttlebug birthday folder, bit of lacy fiber; shiny gems for flower centers; metallic cs for gate.

Speedy recovery
I did take some liberty with this sketch - just had a hard time figuring out how to put circles together! Instead, I cut Cheery Lynn butterflies from the reverse side of the DP (Craft n Craftin). The swirls are Die-namics dies, and the sentiment computer generated. I tore it and distressed with red chalk. I also sponged a bit of red on the main image (Stampin Up Sweet of You set.)

B&W for Hal
This is a bit late for Hal's birthday celebration - so I used the Blessings by Cheery Lynn instead of a Happy Birthday. Image by TLC; gears embossing folder from Darice; misc papers. I used a double row of Washi tape for the long strip. I have learned that it works better for me to adhere the tape to a strip of white cs- the pattern is clearer that way.

A falcon for MMTPT
This is an image from Flonzcraft. The sentiment is a Cuttlebug die, and the embossing folder is Darice. I chalked the embossed gears and the edges of the image. The edges are also distressed. This is also for the TeaPot Tuesday challenge at SplitCoaststampers - the card will be sent to Dave, who is going through a rough patch. Image by Flonzcraft - a recent prize (Yeah!). I think they have an Old World feel - I used Sepia ink, and a deep rust base mat - not as red as it appears here. I lightly inked the Distressed Stripes (Cuttlebug).

Happy March!
WOW! This year is already about 1/6 over! Where does the time go...
First of all, my apologies for an Oops... will have to fix this one! The embossing folder has images going in different directions, but not upside down! I grabbed the layer and started adding tape - not paying attention to the direction. No time to work on it any more now as we have to leave early for church....

Wings of Eagles
This is one of my favorite verses - by Our Daily Bread. I have some patterned cs with a blend of greens and blues in a harlequin pattern. It is part of a collection and only about 6x8 - I cannot bear to cut into it yet, so I decided to make my own with chalk and theCuttlebug Argyle embossing folder. I hope it is ok that I used the same chalk colors to sponge the sentiment layer - the ODB challenge is no colored image.

Lots of Washi
A current challenge at Stamplorations is to CASE one of the examples - I chose one by Vicki Dutcher (Hi, Vicki) - the design appealed to me, and I was also intrigued by the opportunity to use up some of those many rolls of Washi tape I own! I like having choices, but at the rate of 3-4 inches per card, it will last forever! I changed Vicki's colors, sentiment, and embellishments, but kept the overall design - and the Washi tape idea!
Other supplies: stamp by Raindrops on Roses, gems, Prima flower, SU Teal ink.
