New Baby

I need to replenish my stash - no baby cards there right now!  So these colors are great - could be a boy or girl, I think.  I do not have much in the way of images - hope this works.
Old:  Provo DP, CB congrats, ribbon, Penny Black image
New:  glitter (on sentiment), aqua cs.

Thank you in the new year

Happy New Year!  May 2015 be filled with blessings for you.  This is also a thank you to everyone who designs, supervises, comments, creates - and more - to keep the blog challenges going!
The actual card will go to my sister-in-law.  She will be having shoulder replacement surgery next week - several months ago had back surgery that really did not work well, so it is not easy for her.  Your prayers would be appreciated.  I know she appreciates my cards, so I enjoy making them for her.
I am going to try some new things, but also use some of my supplies that have been gathering dust!  For the color challenge (teal, dusty blue, navy, white)  Jo at Trimgym (See C.R.A.F.T. below) created several bg papers - they were freebies and much appreciated.  I used two of them on this card.  I also used a Hampton Art stamp, with a 7Gypsies library sentiment, and some ribbon I have had for a few years. I added glitter to the stamped flower (SU Night of Navy ink.)

B & W for Will

I do enjoy making Christmas cards, but after about 30 of them I am more than ready to try others.  This will go to a brother-in-law with an early January birthday.  These trees (SU) look pretty wintry to me!  The sentiment is also Stampin' Up. Washi tape adds a bit of color.  To make the delicate pine branch, I adhered the tape to a strip of white cs, then did the die cut. The houndstooth paper, ribbon, and stamp have been in my stash for a few years!

Cream and Aubergine

I nearly forgot I have quite a few sheets of DP left in a stack called "Faith", by Paper Studio.  The colors will work well with this Aubergine cs - I have a good supply of that as .  The stamp is by Stampendous.  I distressed the edges - the white does not show well here but it provides contrast and dimension.  From my stash:  the dp, the geometric EF, Cheery Lynn pine branch die, and the set of Ribbon Buckle dies by Spellbinder.

Get Well, Pam

This is to send to Pam, a member at SplitcoastStampers.   She is recovering from surgery and in need of some cheer.  Here is the info:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/20813394-post433.html
I just used these digis (Bugaboo) so I already had some extras printed - handy to use here.  I understand Pam is a nurse, and I hope she will find this humorous - I am sure Pam is the nice nurse!  I used some black and white cs and a white Petaloo flower that have been in my stash for a long time. The bg is from a swirly embossing folder by CB. I used some little gold stickers in the corners - you might be able to see bits of them!

Guest Designer

What a pleasure to be able to be the guest designer this week at Anonymous Stamps (at One and Only Design).  Actually, I was asked to do this a few weeks ago, but we were ready to take off on our month long cruise to western Europe and transAtlantic, so the appearance was deferred a few weeks.  On this site (http://anonymousstamps.blogspot.com/) you will find quite a selection of digis - for free!  What an opportunity to add to your collection!  Check them out.
This week the challenge is "Baby it's cold outside - seems like cold loving penguins are perfect for this one!  Thanks, Anonymous Stamps, for this opportunity.

Half a flourish

Not long ago I expressed a wish for a more delicate flourish die - wish granted!  This is from a Die Namics flourish die - part of a prize from My Favorite Things!  How fortunate for me.  However, I only used half of it so the image was not covered.  The flourish, the collage look of the image, and the sponging are all influenced by Tim Holtz' style.  I used pale gold and rust for fall - as well as the sunflowers. That stamp, by Inkadinkadoo, is one I have had for several years, and tend to neglect.  I stretched the sketch due to the size of the image.  The bg. is embossed with the Vines folder(Quickcutz).  That layer as well as the stamped layers are sponged with ColorBox Chestnut ink.  The flowers are from a little strip I have had a very long time.

butterfly

This butterfly die cut came in a kit - with some of these papers.  I used a punch for the white strip, and the gold diagonal is the negative from a sheet of narrow gold stickers.  The circles are from Spellbinders. I added a sentiment after I put the image in my folder. The stickers, ribbon and gems have been in my stash for a long time, and the butterfly and papers are new.

Golden wedding

This is a card for the 50th anniversary of friends.  I had to use some odds and ends I happened to have with me - all but the image are items Ihave had for several years.  For the special occasion I made a 5.5x8.5 card.  There is a strip of lace acress the center.  I used half pearls and some die cuts to complete this.  The image is from a freebie website - I think the name is antique images.

Rejoice in the day

I am using this sketch a lot - so many options!  The stamp is by Verve - quite new to me.  The rest of the supplies have been in my stash forever!  As for the ribbon - I bought it at a yard sale a couple of years ago, and I think the owner had had it for many years.  Here is another solution for using the birthday folder designed for portrait style.. I embossed the right part of the layer with the birthday greeting, and filled in the left side with the snowflake, which I pretend is a sunburst!

Bug Buster

This is another cute Art Impression stamp!    This time I am using from my newest stash - the DP sent as part of a large package from my sister.  It came from her friend and she passed it along - I have no idea how long it had been there!  On the other hand, I have had the cord for a very long time.

Peace Within

This is a wonderful set for sympathy cards.  Just about everything is from my stash.  The solid cs and Dp is double sided from a pad I bought many years ago, and hoard!  The ribbon, embossing folder and image have also been around a while.  I used "chestnut" ink - looks great with the green.

Hope in the Lord

This is a Word art verse that has been in my files for several months - and the flower and ribbon for much longer.  The DP is new to me - from some one else's stash!  I like to make this type of Thinking of You card.

Bee Happy!

Once again I am taking advantage of gifts - the sentiment and panels are from a kit by Annie, and the flowers from my Wish RAK stash.  I have had the flowers for a while, and the Cuttlebug bg (snowflake) is one I have had for quite a while.

Bright get well

As I look over my recent cards, I see it is time to show some bright color!  I had intended to emboss the red layer, but got interrupted a few times, and distracted - so this is much plainer than my usual work!  I did use the fussy circle dies from Spellbinders, and a couple of pretty unkonwn flowers - they have been in my stash for a while, but I think this is the first I have used them.  At least, they are neglected!  The goldenrod cs and DP is from AMuse.  I colored the image with a variety of colors - red, gold, brown and green predominate, but there are touches of blue and pink as well.

For Boyd

A friend asked me to make a card for their son-in-law, a pastor.  She wanted Scripture, and a reference to fishing - so I chose this dp from a DCWV pack.  I have had this Psalm stamp for many years - as well as the teardrop embellishments.  I used some stickers for his name, and stamps from the Verve Wishing You set.

sympathy for Virginia

This image from SU's Garden Collage has really become a favorite.  I used my new (prize) powdered chalk from Chalk ah Lot - this is called Blue Bell - subtle coloring for the bird and the edges of the white circle.
Supplies:  from my stash - image, Recollection DP, pale blue ribbon, pink gems;  Other - branches from a Cheery Lynn die.  There is a sympathy verse on the inside - this is for a friend from church whose sister and sister-in-law died within four days.

HB, Deb

What a joy to make a card for our daughter (although I wish she did not get older - reminds me that is happening to me as well!).  On top of everything else - she is a big fan of my cards!!!  The color is a very dark teal - looks black here.  I also experimented more with the Nesties ovals - I cut the main image and then the bg mat  in dark teal.  I also cut a second oval the same size as the white one - so the dark would show through the slits.  I colored the image with Prismas.  I am not at home right now and have forgotten the name of the SU set - and I thought the corner DP matched the flowers quite well.  I used Cheery Lynn branch dies for the corners.  Hard to see - the pale green is a very subtly patterned paper.  The stamp, solid cs, and leafy dies have been in my stash for a long time.  The ovals and DP are quite new.

Valentine for Irma

One last Valentine - a friend wanted one for his wife.  The heart paper is from K&Company - the other is from my stash.  I have had both for over a year.  The little pom poms were part of a collection I got after Valentine's Day last year - have not used these before - they are best for a card that does not need to be mailed.  The image is also from my stash of Wish RAK items - colored with Prismas and shiny gel pens - with the outer circle glittered..  I covered most of it, but the white layer is Swiss Dots - one of my first Cuttlebug dies.  On the other hand, I used the Spellbinder Majestic Elements die and the Lifestyle letter dies I just got a few weeks ago.
