SCS TeaPotParty #495

This RAK card will go to Linda who needs some encouragement. The weekly Teapot party cards go to some one in need of a bit of love.  This scripture from Word Art is perfect for that - thank you, Word Art!  I like this type of sketch as it gives me a chance to show off some pretty papers - this one, from Bo Bunny, just happened to have most of the design in the corner.  If you look carefully, there is a blue bird and I think I spotted some butterfly wings in the middle.  I added some extra punched butterflies.  Thanks to Tuesday AM DT member Patti for inspiring me to use the punched border.  See details of the TeaPot challenge here.

B&W butterfly

I a still esperimenting with the fancy circle dies from Spellbinders - there is embossing and there are some very dainty cut outs that do not seem to show.  It also resulted in a larger layer than I should have used for this layout.  Oh, well...  I used pieces of shape n tape for the pennants - will have more Washi tape when I get back to our house!  The edge of the base is pierced.  The butterfly is MFP.

The church ladies

This image has been in my stash for a long time - I have lost track of the origin.  It SO reminds me of my grandmother - complete with the print dresses and the hat!
I feel I am working under a handicap this summer - I inadvertently left a box of my "tools" behind when I packed the motor home - including my punches!  (I got a tiny star one along....). So I have little in the way of scallops, but I hope this rectangle die works!  The corner treatment uses tiny flowers from a Cuttlebug border die, and the Blessings is a great new Cheery Lynn die from Joan's Gardens store.  I used the textile embossing folder (cuttlebug), which I chalked using black chalk.  The splotches are courtesy of my computer.

Say Cheese!!!

In a few months I will probably have a customer who would like several cards featuring cats - time to get started!  I found a website with lots of free cat (and other) images - not sure she is still adding, but I have a small collection!

I colored with chalk pencils.  Texture is from the layered ovals, washi tape and flowers.  The dp is also lightly textured.   The scalloped ovals may be purchased at classycards'nsuch. The card is an A2 rectangle.

Happy New Year

I am planning to get involved in a limited card ministry at church - sending cards to those in special need of cheer or encouragement, so I want to have a bit of a stash available.  This verse came from Word Art some time ago. What a joy to know the glory of God - and to see evidence of His creation all around us.
I sponged chalk - it is a blotch here but IRL it is a pale aqua.  The DP has been in my stash a long time. I actually used up all the 4 mm. chocolate half pearls - I got several from Pizzazz Aplenty as one of my first prizes - a few years ago!

Ready for fall

This is Kitty's Flutter Friends from High Hopes, with a Paper Pretties sentiment.  The BG paper is Basic Grey, and I used a couple of BG scraps for the butterfly and tiny circle punches.  The sentiment is edged with scissors, and I used Nesties for the circles.

A summer scene

Thanks for a sketch that accommodates a larger image.  This is a High Hopes stamp, Country Garden, colored with Prismas.  The lady bug and bird are die cuts from Cheery Lynn,  Embellishments:  a CB scroll die cut, glitter, ribbon, a jewel eye for the bird - this changes, but right now a favorite is ribbon.  DP is from a very old DCWV stack.

Vintage Birthday for a Guy

This truck comes from a great Tim Holtz set, the Journey.  The shading is sponged with chalk.  The plaids and button add to the vintage feel.  The plaid DP is from a Karen Foster pad called Gone Fishing, the EF is CB Spots and dots,  and the plaid tape is Recollections.  This will go to a brother in law for his birthday.  I got the picket fence die (Memory Box) from Joan's Gardens.  The circles are cut with Nesties.

High Hopes Paper Piecing

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to win a challenge at High Hopes, and was asked to be a guest designer.  The challenge this week is Paper Piecing.  I selected Jolie's Little Friend from High Hopes.  I used Recollections DP for the flower, hat and her pants.  The BG paper is from a Debbie Mumm paper pad - the bug theme fit well with the image.   I used Currant cs (AMuse) for the mats. The rest of the coloring is with Prismas, and I added a bit of AMuse twine.  The image and mat are cut with oval dies by Nestabilities.
There is also a tutorial for paper piecing on the High Hopes site.
