Crafter's Cafe #248 ~ DT card - Anything Goes

This classy looking car is from QKR.  I used torn edges to back up the car, and black and gold cord for ties.  Please join the Crafter's Cafe anything goes challenge during the next two weeks, for a chance at some prizes!  We ask that you limit the number of challenges entered to 11.
(Sorry, I am having difficulties with Blogger - it must be a new version.  )

For Marie Tucker

Unfortunately, I need to send another sympathy card.  Marie has a deep faith, and I hope she finds this a comforting (digi) verse.  The scroll frame is embossed on shiny silvery cs.

For Shirley

Our friend Paul passed away recently.  It is a sad time anyway, and more so right now as families have not been allowed to visit hospitals.  The simplicity of this image by Beccy has always appealed to me, and I like the black and white.

A snowy thanks

This is for a grandson and his wife who live in Alaska.  I thought this would be appropriate for them!  One of my goals for the year (again) is to make a bit of a dent in my stash of images and other supplies.  And once again I did not keep track of the origin of this cute snowman!  He is trying to keep warm with that scarf!  The die cut is from an older Cuttlebug set.  I added a bit of glitter to the snow..some of it just looks like blobs on the screen!

The Crafter's Cafe challenge #223 ~ Animal and/or ATC

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

The current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is to use an animal theme, and/or create an ATC.  With our temperatures in Phoenix area peaking around 110 this week, I thought maybe this cute p\Penguin on Ice from Eureka ( a sponsor) might cool us off.  (It is available as a digi or a rubber stamp.)  Not sure it is working!!!  I added some sparkle to the ice. and used am embossed background.  Black aBirthday:nd white cards are a favorite of mine.  This may go to our sister-in-law.  Several years ago we took a cruise with hubby's brother and his wife.  We sailed among the icebergs around Antarctica, and took some sightseeing trips in South America that included penguin colonies.  This will be a reminder of this fun trip.
Please join these challenges!
This fortnight we are linking up with Double Trouble
Check out the blog
https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/
If you also add your project to the Double Trouble Challenge you will increase your chance at a prize.    Double Dare says, "If you have created a special occasion kid and/or baby project and have included a zoo animal, I dare you to enter the "Crafter's CafĂ© Challenge #223."
Though my card will be sent to an adult, it would also be suitable for a child.  There are certainly plnty of penguins in zoos!

DT card for Crafter's Cafe challenge 221- masculine

This cute robot could work for a child or adult - I think it works well for some one when the usual car, golf, or fishing don't apply!  The image is called Bob, from Sheepski Design, a sponsor for the current challenge at The Crafter's Cafe The theme this time is boys/men, or rain/sun (weather) ... or both!  I shaded the image by using a wet aqua pen.  This added the touch of color I wanted.  The metallic background embossing is from a folder by Darice, and the sentiment is Sparkle 'n Sprinkle  Die cuts are by Spellbinders.  The horizontal stripe is Washi tape, and the vertical panel uses metallic ribbon.  Though this looks blue, it is actually silver and black.

Christmas 2018 with Beccy's image

I will have several more cards using this pre colored image from Beccy's Place. This time I needed a fairly quick card to include in my Shoebox... If you are not familiar with this program, Franklyn Graham sponsors a program through Samaritan's Purse - shoeboxes stuffed with necessities and some toys are sent to children all over the world.

Christmas 2018 Recycled

This is another example of recycling.   I used the main image, and other parts of the same card for the background elements.  You can't tell from the photo but there is some glittery texture to enhance the snowy, starry look.  This will be added to my stash for Hearts for the Troops to send off to some sailors.

Happy birthday, Norm

Allsorts challenge
With my eye sight declining, I am more and more relying on pre-colored images.  This one, from Beccy's Place, seemed a good choice for a brother-in-law.  One of his hobbies is making home made ice cream - not quite like these cones, but it may work.  Do you think this works for a masculine card?  I added some dew drops - for dripping ice cream.  There are also button brads and some washi tape.

The Crafter's Cafe challenge #198 - Lots of Layers

This is my card for challenge #198 at the Crafter's Cafe.  Please join us during the next two weeks. The theme is lots of layers, and this sketch is perfect.  In some spots, there are 9 layers.  I used papers from my stash, and a piece that is probably upholstery trim for the corner squares.  That adds some nice dimension.  The image, Drummer Boy, is from one of our sponsors - Cute as a Button. The sentiment is a part of the image.

Another card for a sailor.

Sweek Sketch Wednesday2

Here is another card to donate - to be sent to sailors who are deployed - see more details in my previous post.  I hope that some one will enjoy this cardboard boat image by Dearie Dolls - a pre-colored freebie.  I have so many supplies I am trying to use - the corner items are stickers.  I added twine and some shiny gems. Spellbinder dies were used to cut the ovals.

Sparkly recycled Christmas card 2017

I am finally succeeding in recycling some old Christmas cards - though doing so is definitely not a time saver for me!  This image and sentiment are from two different cards.  There is glitter highlighting the image, and I added some shiny metallic stars.  The cream cs is Shimmery Champagne by Recollections; the green DP is from a DCWV pad.  I used Spellbinder ovals and Nestabilities Majestic Elements ovals. as well as a Cuttlebug border die and cream ribbon.
