Shabby chic masculine get well

This is another favorite image - ok, I have a lot of them - you probably do, too!  Sometimes I color it, but I decided to leave it unadorned.  It fits well with the shabby chic and monochromatic themes of challenges.  I want to express my sadness at the ending of a favorite challenge - Card Positioning Systems (CPS).  Tami and crew, I have enjoyed doing many of your challenges, and they will be missed.  Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into this enterprise - we will see you around elsewhere.

It may look like I am taking a break from card making on some of these days, but I have done several of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at SCS, and I have decided not to double post my cards.  This challenge goes on all month, so there is still time to play along.  There are oodles of prizes - offered to participants who also send cards to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Get well, Friend (Dale)

This is not the "friend" card I intended to make, but we just heard a good friend is in the hospital with serious internal bleeding.  He definitely needs a lift.  This Bugaboo image and sentiment are so funny, but I have not found a lot of suitable situations - Dale will appreciate the humor!  '

Simple sympathy

I like to have sympathy cards in my stash.  Often, friends come to see if I have any available.  This sentiment is from the Verve Blessings set - I was so fortunate to have my number drawn in a recent Mojo Monday challenge.  Winning justifies my addiction to challenges it seems!  I used a scrap of the embossed piece (Swirls) left from my last card, and added a ribbon.  The bg is Costco double sided cs.
I just ordered a Tonic guillotine cutter.  I have resisted getting that style due to space limitations in the motor home.  However, I have tried several other cutters and have been quite frustrated with the short blade life and chopped edges.  There were several positive comments on SCS regarding this trimmer, and the reviews on Amazon were pretty positive.  It arrived today and so far I am pleased.  Well, that is enough commercial!

All White

My apologies for the terrible scan.  (I need to learn to take photos and upload them.  One technological advance at a time is about all I can handle LOL!!!)  The dimensional flower really skewed it.  Then I must have neglected to correct the size.  Hopefully you can see enough of this.  I no longer have the card - made it this morning and it went at the craft sale LOL!  I am also practicing with the Spellbinders flower - have a hard time getting  the hang of "folding" it.

Silver and Royal graduation

This is for the first invitation we received this year - it is out of town so there are no thoughts of attending - but it would be nice to have more than one week's notice!  I try to personalize graduation cards - it is convenient to be able to find out school colors, etc. on line.  The hat is cut from his return address sticker - ultimate recycling! I liked this sketch to allow more of the embossed piece to remain visible - but I was a bit stymied to keep the strips to a minimum, and also masculine.  The center is ribbon (from a clearance holiday set at M's), the rest is from a set of stickers by Anita.  The left is an actual sticker, and the right is a tiny strip of the "negative" - I must admit, I am happy with the result.  The sentiment is one I bought long ago (e-bay?) and I wonder if it is a very old SU stamp - no wood base.

A trio of flowers

The inside verse is for a sympathy card, but this is the only sentiment I had that would work in this layout.  I used Spellbinders embossed photo corners to attach it.  I have rediscovered my Twinkling H20's recently, and like the shimmer on this ivory cs. I need more practice - I was attempting to make the side panels much lighter.  Image is by Hampton Art, and the sentiment is part of a Recollection set.

I used this image for a totally different card, and liked the cream/black/brown combination with the Labels4 die, so made another, and I may use it even more.  The verse will be for a birthday or just thinking of you.

Day 15 - Relaxing Bear

I used my brand new Crafter's Companion Popcorn the Bear - Father's Day image.

 I colored with chalk pastel pencils, and used a variety of papers.

I combined this with the tea pot Tuesday challenge on SCS.  I used Riley (GI Jon) holding a heart, and standing behind the Madison window die cut.  We are sending cards to Katy, a young woman facing overwhelming medical problems.  She has many military connections in her family.
