Crafter's Cafe challenge #247 - male

This cutie is a digi called Puppy Love - Heart String from Bugaboo,  There are several male dog lovers in our family so for me it is definitely a masculine card!  I you look closely you might see paw prints on some of the circles!  The hearts are colored with markers, and I used a Spellbinder die for the mat.  I hope you will join us at the current Crafter's Cafe challenge to do a masculine card.  You have until 5 A.M.  EDT July 29 to enter.  You may enter as many as 5 times, but remember - no more than 11 total challenges per card to be eligible for the draw.

Tool bench for a guy

This is the same image I just used on another card - same image but different etting.  I often print 2 or 3 digis at a time - then promptly add the extras to my stash.  I am going to try to change that  and actually make more than one card at a time!  The image is from Sparkle n Sprinkle, and the rest is made up of items from my stash.  The edges are torn and sponged with chalk.

Happy birthday to our son

Paul, are you really going to be 60? where have the years gone?
He just finished a major remodeling job -the final project of many in their home.  He had to do this evenings and week ends.  I thought about putting a big red X over the tool cart!  (I have used so many hunting and fishing images - time for a change LOL!!!)
The image was a prize from Sparkle n Sprinkle - I think they are now out of business. The letters are from a Cuttebug alphabet die set - probably the first die set I purchased.  The DP pieces are from my endless stash.  The base features a number of stripes to fulfill the sketch.  I sponged the town edges of the image with chalk.

DT card for Crafter's Cafe challenge 221- masculine

This cute robot could work for a child or adult - I think it works well for some one when the usual car, golf, or fishing don't apply!  The image is called Bob, from Sheepski Design, a sponsor for the current challenge at The Crafter's Cafe The theme this time is boys/men, or rain/sun (weather) ... or both!  I shaded the image by using a wet aqua pen.  This added the touch of color I wanted.  The metallic background embossing is from a folder by Darice, and the sentiment is Sparkle 'n Sprinkle  Die cuts are by Spellbinders.  The horizontal stripe is Washi tape, and the vertical panel uses metallic ribbon.  Though this looks blue, it is actually silver and black.

The Crafter's Cafe - DT card for "masculine" challenge

I received some great papers from DeCosse;s Dynamite Doodles, and used them to showcase the sentiment - also from there.  I added twine, and a backdrop of the birthday embossing folder from Embossalicious.
Please join us over the next couple of weeks for the Masculine challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  See the blog for details and lots of fun inspiration - as well as the prize list.

Recycling again

I have saved a lot of images from cards we have received, and it is time to use some of them.  Besides having an opportunity to use attractive pictures, it helps me - my eyes will just not allow my to color images any longer.  This Sketch Saturday sketch is perfect for using such picutres.  I added some shiny twine and a punched border (Martha Stewart punch)

For our weekly challenge I have used an image called "Duck" and the accompanying sentiment - from QKR Stampede.  Please join us - you may be a winner and earn some images!  The deadline is 6 p.m. EDT Thursday.

Design Team card for QKR Stampede challenge #299 - anything goes

I need several cards for guys in the next few weeks.  This is for my brother's birthday.  He is not especially interested in cars, but since he and the car are both "vintage" I thought it appropriate.
I used the image "old car" as well as the sentiment from QKR Stampede.  The new challenge at QKR Stampede begins now and ends at 6 p.m. EDT Thursday.  You may enter as many as 3 times, and there are separate categories for QKR/Eureka images, and for "other".  We encourage you to use your QKR Stampede/Eureka products.
I added a touch of silver (stars and cord) to the black/white theme.  The finished size is 4.5x6.25.

Note to blogger users - I have been frustrated by the lack of e-mail notices for comments.  I hope I solved the problem by writing a comment and clicking on the box that asks for e-mail notification.

Bonus DT card for Crafter's Cafe - TIc Tac Toe

I had an opportunity to select a bonus image for the current Tic Tac Toe challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  I was happy to select All American Owen from the Paper Nest Dolls.  He will make a great card to donate to the local group Hearts for the Troops - but not so great for the tic tac toe grid LOL!
The embossed layer is by Darice and looks like fireworks.
Diagonal - white, patterned paper, dry embossing

Come join us during the next two weeks!

DT card for Crafter's Cafe - tic tac toe

Please join the Crafter's Cafe challenge during the next two weeks - following the tic tac toe challenge - that is tic tac toe with a twist - be sure to use the center square.  since that is Patternrd Paper it should be pretty easy!  My image is called Time Well Spent, and comes from Creative BUg on the Loose - look for this great father-son image under Family Connections.
I colored the image with Prismas.  The DP has fishing lures - they are very subtle and hard to see!
These are the tic-tac-toe squares I completed - nearly all of them!  Diagonals:  white, patterned paper, embossing and yellow, patterned paper, black; also - first column - white, twine, black.

DT card for ATG at QKR Stampede - Gone Fishing - HB, Ethan

Spring time and fishing - they go hand in hand in my family - especially for our son, son-in-law and our grandsons.  I have used this image from QKR Stampede called Gone Fishing.  We hope you will join us at the QKR Stampede weekly challenge - you may add up to 3 entries by 3pm EDT Thursday.  You have a chance to win this or any QKR image. If you use a digi from QKR or Eureka you have another chance to win - 3 images for that!  Take a look here to see what my DT teammates have made to inspire you this week.
This is for my grandson's birthday.  He is a hot shot fireman and spending the summer in Alaska - looking forward to fishing if he ever gets a day off!  I colored the image with Prismas, and used a computer generated sentiment.   I used some fishing DP for the bg and added twine and tiny fish stickers - I am sure he hopes for something bigger!!!

New embossing folder

I stopped at JoAnns to look for something else and discovered the Darice embossing folders at half price - could not let that bargain go by!  I am making some cards for a local Navy mom to use to send to her son's buddies - and others.  I thought this would work for a military/masculine birthday and then later for July 4.  I highlighted with chalk and some glittery stars and sequins, and a sentiment by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I need to check to see if glitter and sequins are ok to send.  The verse inside includes a happy birthday greeting.

Crafter's Cafe #185 - Tic Tac Toe ~ DT card

This is my card for the Design Team examples for the Nov. 15 challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  The challenge is to choose a line from the Tic Tac Toe grid - with a twist.  The middle square - "charm" is required.  My line, a diagonal, is:  blue / charm / designer paper.  My image, provided by Bugaboo, is called Video Guy.  I like this image as it fits the masculine age group that can be a bit of a challenge.  Little did I realize that it was a bit more of a challenge for me, as my charms fit for a guy were pretty much non existent.  This key is the best I could do!  I added Washi tape.  The DP has been in my stash for a long time, as have the circle dies.

ImagineThatDigiStamp Guest Designer card

ImagineThatDigiStamp Mason's MP3

I recently posted a couple of cards for the modern teen girl, so decided it was time to give the guys equal time.  Right now, I don't have any teen boys to make cards for, but I know they can be a challenge!  I think this set with Mason offers some possibilities.    I have been enjoying my stint as guest designer at ImagineThatDigistamp.    Check the current anything goes challenge, ending Sept. 1, here.
I colored Mason with Prismas, and fussy cut the headsets for a bit of extra electronics.  The embossing folder is a steampunk design, and the chevron DP is from an ImagineThat set called Pixel Perfect Background.
