Anoher sympathy card = for Marge

Marge lost her husband to leukemia - just 18 days after diagnosis.  He was 89, so lived a long and very blessed life.  I wanted to recognize their deep faith as I made this card.  I used washi tape and a Spellbinder die cut cross as embellishments.
I have several copies of this image in my folder but have lost track of the origin.  If you recognize it, please let me know.\
I missed the deadline for Sketch Saturday!

Congrats on earning your PHD, Melissa

Our great niece just earned a PHD - what an achievement!
I had a piece of black cs that I had previously used for an oval cutout.  It was just the right size and shape, so I used it as a frame for the starry patterned paper.  The sentiment is a strip of patterned paper, and the gold stars are acrylic.

Crafter's Cafe DT card Challenge #242 - Feminine

For this challenge at the Crafter's Cafe I selected this image #832 from My Besties.  I chose to highlight a few of the flowers with a water color pencil. Shiny acrylic gems are used as the centers forthe dimensional flowers. I hope you will join us during the next two weeks with your lovely feminine cards.

A snowy thanks

This is for a grandson and his wife who live in Alaska.  I thought this would be appropriate for them!  One of my goals for the year (again) is to make a bit of a dent in my stash of images and other supplies.  And once again I did not keep track of the origin of this cute snowman!  He is trying to keep warm with that scarf!  The die cut is from an older Cuttlebug set.  I added a bit of glitter to the snow..some of it just looks like blobs on the screen!

Sympathy for Pat and family

Once again I neglected to record the source of this pre-colored image from my stash - maybe TLC?  Please let me know if you recognize it.  I used Spellbinder ovals and circles and some sticker strips to finish the details.

More Thinking of you

This is one of the great vintage images offered at TLC - pre colored which is so helpful for my bad eyes!  I used DP from my stash, and added a metal clip with a rhinestone framed with metal.  I even found ribbon with the same fall colors. I used Spellbinder dies for the ovals and the DP layer.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Thinking of you

I need to replenish my supply of generic thinking of you cards.  I really like this sketch to display verses.  Word Art has such a lovely selection  This has been in my file since late 2014  The sentiment is from my computer. I used the heat gun to frizzle the ribbon ends, and used Labels dies for the "tag".

Hanna's shower

Our grandson and his wife are expecting their first child in November.   just happens to be our first great grandchild.  There will be a shower in a few days, so this is the card which has already been sent off.  They are not revealing the sex, so I tried to make this neutral.  I realize that on the screen the buggy looks blue, but IRL it is purple - a color chosen to go with the bg paper and the brads.  This image has been in my files for a while - credited to Kinda Cute Cards.  I colored with Prismas.  The DP is by Paper Studio, and I used the fancy ovals from Spellbinders to back the fussy cut image.  I think I obtained the jar full of baby brads as pert of a yard sale combo purchase -  I have few baby cards to make so was glad of a chance to use some...including the Hugs.  The strip behind the image is from a roll of wide gold mesh ribbon.

Crafter's Cafe challenge #210 - Glitter and/or Christmas

We hope you will join us for the current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe - Christmas, and/or glitter - choose one or use both!  The challenge runs until the end of December.  NOTE:  we will take a little break and resume on January 15.   I have chosen to feature this cute snowman set from MMedelIllustrations.
I colored these cuties with watercolors.  I added glitter to tri the hats and enhance the background snowflakes.  Punched snowflakes and silver ribbon complete the look.

Crafter's Cafe DT card for challenge 205 - black, white, one color

The current #205, at the Crafter's Cafe is to use black and white with one color. This adorable angel from Cute as a Button just seemed to need to be surrounded by gold!  I prepared several of the angels while doing this card, so I will be prepared to make a few more Christmas cards.
Details:  O Holy Night image by Cute as a Button;  Snowflake embossing folder by Cuttlebug; unknown DP; glittery gold mesh and cheer gold ribbon; gold glitter, Spellbinder oval dies; Twinkling H20 Egyptian gold.   (I do not do well with adding glitter, and I wanted to use some sparingly on the angel's wings and robe.  I made a wash of white glue and water to paint on designated areas, then added some Tinsel embossing powder by Recollections - then heat embossed.  This achieved the desired result.
We hope you will join us at the Crafter's Cafe for the current challenge.  And we have special news for this challenge:
"The still new Double Trouble Challenge, held on the1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, coincided with our October 1st challenge. We have joined for a linking up of the Black, White plus 1 colour,

If you decide to link your project on both challenges, you have a chance of be a randomly selected winner at The Crafter's Cafe and also  a randomly selected winner of Double Trouble  where the prizes are: If you are in North America, you will receive their "Bag of Things" and if you are outside of North America, you will receive a monetary gift from a popular digital company!  That gives you a chance of winning one of five prizes."

DT Card for the Crafter's Cafe challenge #203 - use 3 of something

The current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is to use 3 of something.  I have the 3 circles, of course, but if you look carefully I have 3 punched bones in the corners.  This image is calIed Happy dog - and I   think this doggie is happy about that!  The image comes from one of our sponsors, the QKR Stampede.  Check out the Crafter.s Cafe blog for details.  There are some fun prizes to be won.;
Circles - dies by Spellbinder;  Image - Happy Dog by QKR Stampede;  BG- Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder, with splattered Walnut ink from my old stash.  I think this birthday folder is the first embossing folder in my stash!

Christmas 2018 Recycled

This is another example of recycling.   I used the main image, and other parts of the same card for the background elements.  You can't tell from the photo but there is some glittery texture to enhance the snowy, starry look.  This will be added to my stash for Hearts for the Troops to send off to some sailors.

Crafter's Cafe Challenge #202 - birthday and/.or buttons

I used buttons on this birthday card, but if you enter the current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe you may choose one or the other - or both, as I have.   I know many of you have a button collection around there someplace!  This image is part of a set available from one of our sponsors, Sparkle n' Sprinkle.   The birds in the background are a part of the set as well.  Actually, I have also had it in my collection as a freebie from Beccy's Place - thanks to both of you.  It is a favorite of mine - so versatile as it can be a masculine birthday card, as I have done here, or it could be a thinking of you or sympathy card.

For a sailor

I have been giving some cards to a local group called Hearts for the Troops.  A navy Mom most recently "adopted" an entire navy ship - sending care packages and cards. One of the sailors should enjoy this.  I hope to have a few more cards for her to send for birthdays as well as some to include in the care boxes.  For this card I used a pre-colored Dearie Doll digi, embossing by Cuttlebug, washi tape, a bit of pattern paper, and die cuts by Spellbinder.

Birthday bear

I got to ink up and cut out a part of the prize I just won at Die Cuttin Divas - RubberNecker products.  This adorable bear stamp came with matching die.  I colored him with soft chalk pencils.  The DP is from a Stampin Up pad.  The burlap, sentiment and die cut buttons were all in my stash.
I am pretty sure this bear just got out of his winter den and is watching for summer to arrive - he looks like a little cub, at any rate.

Coffee Drinking non aging Maxine!

This is an image that has been in my RAK stash for a long time.  Can any one help me with the origin?  I colored her with Prismas.  The flowers are a variety of die cuts - some are Cheery Lynn.

Happy Anniversary, hubby!

This is doing double duty.  Today is our 61st anniversary - I must admit that I sometimes run out of ideas after exchanging so many cards over the years.  (He has anniversary, birthday and father's day within about 3 weeks so that increases the challenge.)  But this certainly expresses how I feel,  In spite of health challenges over the past few years, he does so much to make me feel loved.

This image is from QKR Stampede.  I hope you will join us for the anything goes challenge.  You may enter up to 3 times - the deadline is always Thursday at 3 p.m.
I used Twinkling H20's to give some shimmer to the hearts and the cup.  The papers are from a Beau Papier collection.

Bonus DT card for Crafter's Cafe - TIc Tac Toe

I had an opportunity to select a bonus image for the current Tic Tac Toe challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  I was happy to select All American Owen from the Paper Nest Dolls.  He will make a great card to donate to the local group Hearts for the Troops - but not so great for the tic tac toe grid LOL!
The embossed layer is by Darice and looks like fireworks.
Diagonal - white, patterned paper, dry embossing

Sympathy

Unfortunately, my supply of sympathy cards is very low, so I need to add to the selection.  This precolored digi has been in my file for quite a while - from Luna girl.  I used a golden yellow for mats, and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and edging embossing folder for backing.   The butterfly is from C Designs, and the half pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.
