MMTPT296 for Kathleen

Those of you who visit my blog regularly know that I participate in the weekly TeaPot Tuesday challenge at SplitCoastStampers.  In addition to doing a challenge, we have the option of sending our card to someone who can use a lift.  This week the cards go to one of our group, Kathleen, who is awaiting a lung transplant.  Our challenge is to use images and sentiments that represent the courage Kathleen has shown during her illness.  The eagle is one of the suggested images.  This verse certainly fits.  Kathleen, you are in our prayers.
The pattern strip was in a kind of grab bag at a yard sale.I think it is an iron on material, but I just used it like paper -   it has the colors I needed!  I also needed something to embellish an oops! so added the strip of lace (I suspect one or two of you has had a similar experience...!!!)

Friendship on a rainy day

This image is from SU - Fine Print.  It is a set I have had a long time - just had to have - and then rarely use.  I just got a bottle of Crystal Effects (another yard sale find) and they add shimmer to the Cheery Lynn rain drops - I may add another layer for even more dimension.  The clouds are a part of the set, and the bug is from a Cheery Lynn tiny things set.  The colors and dots are inspired by a couple of the challenge photos.  The paper is a perfect one for paper piecing the umbrella.  Sentiment - from Verve.  By the way, I think any die is my favorite!

Timely masculine B'day card

I am continuing to try to incorporate ideas I see on various blogs.  This time, I attempted to create a shabby bg - which is not showing here (the Happy birthday layer is NOT shiny, but shabby.  I sponged through a stencil and lightly stamped with stamps from the Nostalgique (EK Success) set - which includes the clock.  Next I embossed the HB folder.  The bg layer is embossed with argyle  on white core cs.  I also sponged the cord with Ranger Distress ink.   I have lots of favorite dies - circles are right at the top of the list!  The border is a Martha Stewart punch.
I have a question for you - does any one else have MS punches that cause problems?  Mine seem to lose the "spring" and fail to punch through each time, and then do not release properly.  Major disappointment!

Thanks, again

This must be my brown period!  The mat and corners are really more rust - not sure why the color is off.  The image is Our Daily read, and the Thanks is part of the Cuttlebug Olivia alpha set.  I stamped and sponged with Versamagic Gingerbread, which matches the cs IRL.  The strip is Washi tape, and the embossed is Bricked by Ranger..

A Prayer for you

Here is another card for my "encouragement" stash.  A super easy sketch - thanks!  The bg DP does not show - it is from a Paper Studio stack, and has the Lord's Prayer.  Actually, I find this pattern hard to use - do not want to cover it too much, so I thought it would work with this layout.  I simply used those words as the sentiment.  The image is SU's Sassy Stems, colored with Spica glitter pens.

Happy New Year

I am planning to get involved in a limited card ministry at church - sending cards to those in special need of cheer or encouragement, so I want to have a bit of a stash available.  This verse came from Word Art some time ago. What a joy to know the glory of God - and to see evidence of His creation all around us.
I sponged chalk - it is a blotch here but IRL it is a pale aqua.  The DP has been in my stash a long time. I actually used up all the 4 mm. chocolate half pearls - I got several from Pizzazz Aplenty as one of my first prizes - a few years ago!
