SCS Dare to Get Dirty - Nancy Litrell

When I saw the stencil on paper I realized it would fit the background for the Mojo sketch, so I have one more entry.  I always like to start with a sketch, so I appreciate the availability of the Mojp cktch this week!  The image is from Beccy's place, and I added Washi tape and a gem.

QKR Stampede #202 - Down on the Farm

This is my DT card for the QKR Stampede challenge this week - "Down on the Farm". You may enter as many as 3 cards by 6pm EDT on Thurs., Aug 4.   I saw this Whistling Cow image at the QKR store, and decided it would be great for our granddaughter's birthday.  We have kind of a running joke about the fact she likes cows!  (Maybe it is a rich rancher she would like to find!)  Both the image and sentiment are QKR.    I added some tiny black gems to the sentiment.   I used Washi tape and a piece of  flocked dot DP to continue the black and white theme.  (

Baby Card - Design Team card for Eureka Stamps challenge 187

I thought it would be a good idea to have a generic card in my stash - hence the "neutral" yellow tones!  This adorable Baby Zebra and the sentiment with the great font are from the digis available at Eureka Stamps - they also come in the more traditional rubber stamps.  This week the challenge is to create a baby card.  The challenge is open through Sunday, and you may enter a maximum of 3 times.  The papers, button and Washi tape are from my stash.  The image is colored with a dark grey Prisma.
I used the sketch from Paper Craft Crew, but I am entering too many challenges to participate in theirs.

The kitty in the Window

This week the TeaPotters are card shower is going the the cousin of a member who is facing the removal of a kidney - as well as other health issues.  She is definitely in need of cheer.  Since she likes cats, I used this image from A Day for Daisies, and cut it out - so it appears she is looking in the window - or is she inside looking out?  I added some cord for the curtains.  The window die is Cheery Lynn - I did not include the shutters that are part of the die . For the music theme - do you recall "How much is that doggie in the window?"  That song popped in my head when I thought of this card - substitute kitty, of course.

For a new Kathleen

It is not obvious, but this card is a congratulations card for an SCS friend who recently had a double lung transplant and is starting her new life.  The TeaPot Party gang had a celebration for her.  I am very late, but I did bring some music and singers to continue the festivities.  (Maybe she will need earplugs LOL!!!)  This is a fun image from Art Impressions featuring Betty at the keyboard.  I colored with chalk pencils, and added another tiny bird who seems to be escaping.... The sentiment is Recollections.  The mats and bird are Kraft cs.  As I am unpacking all my stuff from the RV I keep finding hidden treasures, including these clips.  Time to use them!

Vintage a la Tim Holtz

Happy New Year!
This has little to do with the New Year, but I just now had a chance to try this vintage look.  The Vintage Journey challenge is Ring Out the Old, Ring in the New.  My take is to use some very old items, such as the floral strip - not sure what to call it.  I got a bunch of strips of felt like fabric at a yard sale, and forget to find a use for them.  The lattice metallic strip is also old.  For me, ring in the new is to really make an attempt at the Tim Holt style - with sponging, a muted earth tone color scheme, and a vintage style image.
For the Top Tip Tuesday challenge I made my own bg paper, with heat embossed image - from SU Stippled Stencil.  My tip:  to stop the fabric from fraying - I adhered scotch tape to the back, and trimmed it as I cut the banner edge.  I think it is working!  The image - SU Provencal.  Sponging - with Ranger Tattered Rose distress ink.  I also sponged several inks on the card base.  (FYI - the black is for contrast on the photo - not a part of the card.)
