W - Wise Men ~ Christmas

There is a race at Beccy's!  This is another recycled example.  I really liked the embossed gold Wise Men.  I decided to sort of fussy cut the grouping, mount it o red, and add a sticky strip gold border.  The sentiment is computer generated.

R is for Recycle - Christmas 2019

Once again, the papers are from my recently purchased Hope and Faith pad.  This time I used a favorite technique - recycling old Christmas cards.  This was cut using Spellbinder oval dies.  I added a star punched from the same card.  Also- red sticker strips; gold and cream cord, computer generated sentiment, black mat.

3 pieces recycled

For those of you celebrating Thanksgiving today...enjoy the day and I hope you have much to be thankful for.  Our list is long - including faith, family, friends amd freedom .  Later we will join several others at church - there will be a turkey dinner served for those who, like us, are far from family today.  I have my green bean casserole ready to go!
Once again I found pieces of old cards to recycle - the lovely picture and two glittery pieces for the background.  It does not show but the whole left panel is glittery, as are the snowflakes and the star.

Recycling again

I have saved a lot of images from cards we have received, and it is time to use some of them.  Besides having an opportunity to use attractive pictures, it helps me - my eyes will just not allow my to color images any longer.  This Sketch Saturday sketch is perfect for using such picutres.  I added some shiny twine and a punched border (Martha Stewart punch)

Recycled Christmas 2018 - Mojo Monday Sketch

Yeah!  Mojo Monday is back - every 2 weeks or so.  I am addicted to sketch challenges so this is welcome news.  Once again, I am recycling a card from my stash (the ones I am using are all pre-2017.)  The papers, unmarked, are from my collection, and I added a bit of burlap for texture. and roughed the edges to go with the vintage look of the image.

No stamping for MMTPT232

I have missed a lot of SplitCoastStampers Teapot Tuesday challenges, but certainly wanted to join last week.  Anita has been supplying cards for her chemo group to use - but Anita herself is not always feeling up to making more cards.  The Teapotters are helping her out by sending an extra card or two - mostly thank you and birthday cards.  I made this one, and will enclose a few others from my RAK stash.  If you would like to know more, here is the link.
I used this pretty floral image from a "store bought" card I received.  Supplies:  washi tape, Spellbinder Labels die, Cuttlebug sentiment from Olivia set - probably the first CB set I ever bought!

Upcycled birthday card

Recently I have tried to do more upcycling than previously.  I have reached the point where I really must do something about that stack of cards I intend to use some day...!!!  I also need to use my stash of supplies, stamps, etc - if I make 500 cards a month I might make a dent! (Just kidding, of course!  These days, I am lucky to get a dozen or so a month.)   Here I have used a lovely image from a card - one of the few I have suitable for a guy!  I added the stamped sentiment, and used Spellbinders Labels 1 dies for the image, and sticker strips for the edging.

Christmas 2018 Recycled

This is another example of recycling.   I used the main image, and other parts of the same card for the background elements.  You can't tell from the photo but there is some glittery texture to enhance the snowy, starry look.  This will be added to my stash for Hearts for the Troops to send off to some sailors.

Starting on Christmas 2018

This meets a couple of my coals for this year - make more cards, and remember to upcycle.  This is paet of one of the lovely cards I have received -and that I am reluctant to toss!  I just added an embossed background (Swiss dots) and banner with a computer sentiment.  My interpretation of new beginnings - this is a new beginning for this image from another card - and I will use the verse on the inside.

Recycled Christmas card 2017 - 12/9

All the cream colored pieces are cut or punched from an old card.  The sentiment stamp is Studio G.  The gold strips are both metallic ribbon.  The embossed images are shiny IRL.  The circles are cut from dies.
Note:  it is so sad to see a few more challenges closing at the end of the year.  All the best - but the challenges will be missed.

More recycled Christmas Cards, 2017

I am still trying to figure out how to use this great die cut.  This time, I used an old, glittery Christmas card as the backdrop.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The metallic gold ribbon is also glittery.

Christmas 2017 - recycled - F for follower

This image is another die cut from a previous year's card.  The sentiment is computer generated, and I added a couple of strips of burlap.  This is for F in the alphabet challenge from Beccy's Place.  Could be F for follow the star.

Recycle Christmas 2017

Here is another of my recycled cards for this year.  I have lots of beautiful cards to recycle, but I also am addicted to using a sketch challenge as a starting point.  Here the real challenge is to find a pre-made card with an image that works wirh a sketch!  This one uses Labels 4 dies, some cs from my stash, and a starry embossing folder by Cuttlebug.  So, for the "C" challenge - Christ child, Christmas, card, Cuttlebug, cord, and, of course challenge.  This is for Beccy's 30 days in November Christmas challenge.

Reuse and recycle

The image is recycled from my stash of Christmas cards received; sentiment is SU; the silver oval at the bottom is the recycled foil cover from an International Coffee tin. The snowflake is cut from a bit of extra part of the card.

Christmas 2017 - recycled

I am continuing with my personal challenge of recycling at least a few of the manycards I have been accumulating over the years.  Sorry the colors are not good - the DP is more of a teal and not as purple as it appears.  The dies came in an unmarked package.

Recycled Christmas 10-1-17

This continues my goal of recycling many of the cards I have been saving for a while!  I mounted the original card on dark blue cs; tapered the top, and added punched gold stars.  I opened a brand new  piece of ribbon - it says Merry Christmas  (this does not show up on the photo but the two words are imprinted in gold on the ribbon).  I hope the local Navy Mom who is sending 100 boxes to the troops will be able to use a few more cards.

Recycled Christmas card 9-16-17

I added the snowflake embossing folder - maybe they look like stars?  The sheer gold ribbon and gold metallic cs add an elegant touch.  The background of the recycled image is a muted gold, though it looks black on my screen!  The images are white.

Recycled Christmas 2017 - 9/10

Here is another of my recycled cards.  I used most of the elements from the original card - including the verse and trim on the inside.  At the rate I am going I will have used most of mine in 10 years or so, but by then will have added even more to the to-do stack!!!  I ued a favorite color, burgundy, for mats for the tag and the base, and discovered I had nearly matching wide and narrow sheer cream ribbon!  The card is 4.5 x.6.5.
