A snowy thanks

This is for a grandson and his wife who live in Alaska.  I thought this would be appropriate for them!  One of my goals for the year (again) is to make a bit of a dent in my stash of images and other supplies.  And once again I did not keep track of the origin of this cute snowman!  He is trying to keep warm with that scarf!  The die cut is from an older Cuttlebug set.  I added a bit of glitter to the snow..some of it just looks like blobs on the screen!

The Crafter's Cafe challenge #223 ~ Animal and/or ATC

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

The current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is to use an animal theme, and/or create an ATC.  With our temperatures in Phoenix area peaking around 110 this week, I thought maybe this cute p\Penguin on Ice from Eureka ( a sponsor) might cool us off.  (It is available as a digi or a rubber stamp.)  Not sure it is working!!!  I added some sparkle to the ice. and used am embossed background.  Black aBirthday:nd white cards are a favorite of mine.  This may go to our sister-in-law.  Several years ago we took a cruise with hubby's brother and his wife.  We sailed among the icebergs around Antarctica, and took some sightseeing trips in South America that included penguin colonies.  This will be a reminder of this fun trip.
Please join these challenges!
This fortnight we are linking up with Double Trouble

If you also add your project to the Double Trouble Challenge you will increase your chance at a prize.    Double Dare says, "If you have created a special occasion kid and/or baby project and have included a zoo animal, I dare you to enter the "Crafter's Café Challenge #223."
Though my card will be sent to an adult, it would also be suitable for a child.  There are certainly plnty of penguins in zoos!

Using new dies

I just got a set of Christmas dies from Peachy Cheap,  This image and sentiment were included, though I ordered the set for others that were included.  I am not sure about this - but I can see I need to use a solid background rather than this pattern paper.  That will be for another day!  The strips and mat are shiny gold.  For day 6 at Beccy's Christmas challenge, I used embossed edges on the oval die cut, and ecru colored cs.  Maybe I should add e for eyes - m y macular degeneration is bothering a lot today, and the print is jumping around a lot!
