For my sister - version 2

Another card for my sister who long ago had dreams of being a concert violinist - and who has played in several orchestras. The image is one of so many freebies posted by TLC in Facebook.  I used papers from a collection called Heirloom, and added a bit of gold cord.  Too late for Christmas, but I made a couple to send to my sister - maybe she can use them as notecards.  I forgot to measure, and they went in the mail today, but they are about 5x7. I cut the image with decorative scissors.

for my sister

I saw this image and had to make something for my sister.  She has played in an orchestra, and likes vintage.  I hope she likes this - even though it is too late for Christmas this year.  Image is by TLC - one of a huge collection of freebies.  This may be a stretch for the :"dream" theme, but long ago her dream was to be an accomplished violinist.

Crafter's Cafe Dec. 15 challenge

We hope you will join us for the current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe....Holidays  OR
I spy with my little eye something beginning with C .  As you can see, I have covered  both aspects of the challenge.  The image is from QKR Stampede.  I fussy cut two candles so they could be layered with more dimension.  I used a bit of grey to highlight the white candle.  I used DP from my stash, and also found the tag in my stash of paper,  Check out the details of the challenge as well as delightful examples from fellow team members here.

Christmas 2019

I am trying to complete a few more Christmas cards, even as it is time to get them in the mail!  OK, next year I really will start earlier!  Once again I am taking advantage of a colored image by Beccy.  The sentiment is from her same Nativity collection.  The oval die cuts are with Spellbinders.

Christmas 2019 Pocket card

Sorry for the terrible photo.
I used my Christmas papers for a pocket card (scored and folded at top and bottom as well as side flaps).    The card is to hold an ornament and probably a check or gift card for grandchildren.  I try to make a card to display or for an ornament.  I used the freebie ornament  from Beccy's place - both the colored and black and white.  However, I found it hard to color the tiny holly leaves - just cannot see well enough!  On the "back" ornament I paper pieced part of the ornament to go with the colored holly.  Thanks, Beccy.

Christmas 2019 - shabby

The edges are shabby, and I added burlap for a shabbier look.  I think the colors and shading also add to the feel.  T he starry bg paper is from the Hope and Fauth paper pad. No red or green in sight this time!

Crafter's Cafe Challenge 232 - One Layer OR Window

I used my window die from Poppystamps with the pretty sunflower from Morgan's Artworld. I colored the image with chalk pencils for a soft look. I chose the background paper because it reminds me of the sky and grass.  I added some branches from Cheery Lynn dies, and a sentiment from the first Cuttlebug set I bought - years ago,   We hope you will join this challenge at the Crafter's Cafe You can use the theme of a window, or create a one layer card.:

V is for vine - Christmas

This is a change of pace for one of my last cards for the month long holiday challenge at Beccy's Place.  I have had this die for a while - let me know if you know the origin.  I am just not sure how I want to use it!  I would like white on white, but that can be quite tricky for me. I need to start experimenting in January. I was inspired by the banner at Jingle Belles - especially by the intricate die and the textured ribbon edging.

H is for Heavenly angel - Christmas 2019

I made this card yesterday without thinking too much about the alphabet - then I had to stretch things a bit to use a new letter.  This must be a heavenly herald angel announcing the birth of the Christ child.  Thanks Beccy for all the challenges and for the pre colored image from your Nativity set.  The papers - from CraftsMart Hope and Faith;  Washi tape, metallic ribbon and a Spellbinder scalloped oval die.

N for Newborn King - Christmas 2019

I am going to be able to complete a few more than half of the challenges at Beccy;s November holiday challenge - today I am thankful for the time I have had to do as many as I have.  Some of you who follow this blog know that my husband has Parkinson's - he is somewhat mobile but does need to have me run his errands.  I also want to spend as much time as I can watching tv with him.  On this Thanksgiving we are both grateful for the 62 years we have had together, and savor every moment we have.  And yes, we have much more to be thankful for.  If you celebrate Thanksgiving, may you have a blessed day.
This time I have used a pre colored image and sentiment from Beccy's digital Nativity set.  I added punched stars, textured ribbon, and some cord.  The mats are navy.

S is for Savior - Christmas 2019

This card is created using only papers from the Faith and Hope pad, by Craftsmart. - with the addition of a bit of striped Washi tape to tie the parts together.  It has become increasingly difficult for me to color images due to my macular degeneration, so I am grateful for the variety of this pack.  This card is 5.5 x 4.25.    It is another card made for the challenge at Beccy's Place this month - she is encouraging a card a day.  I am not close, but I am entering when I can.  Thanks to all the other challenge sponsors as well.

This is for challenge #229 at the Crafter's Cafe.  You have two weeks to complete your entry, and there are several options:  use a stencil, or Halloween and/or the colors purple, orange and black. As you can see, i used the colors for the Halloween theme.  The sponsor is DeCosse's Dynamite Doodles, and I selected the following to complete my card:
Trick or treat bundle - textured papers - light purple grunge; dark purple grunge;
Trick or treat bundle -  General elements  -  two pumpkins (upper left); green moon face and witch hat;  happy Halloween sentiment
I used Spellbinder dies for the circles, and some ribbon from my endless stash.
I fussy cut the small images - good thing I mounted on white cs, as my macular degeneration is kind of acting up today and I struggled with cutting. I have learned that  mounting on white hides uneven cut edges!  The images are all pre-colored.  I added some Stickles to the sentiment for the shine.

Happy birthday to our son

Paul, are you really going to be 60? where have the years gone?
He just finished a major remodeling job -the final project of many in their home.  He had to do this evenings and week ends.  I thought about putting a big red X over the tool cart!  (I have used so many hunting and fishing images - time for a change LOL!!!)
The image was a prize from Sparkle n Sprinkle - I think they are now out of business. The letters are from a Cuttebug alphabet die set - probably the first die set I purchased.  The DP pieces are from my endless stash.  The base features a number of stripes to fulfill the sketch.  I sponged the town edges of the image with chalk.

Crafter's Cafe Challenge #227 - School related and/or Tea and Coffee

As you can tell, I selected the school related theme for my Dt card this challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  I am just not sure that in this day of uncertainty many kids ride bikes to school, but it could be an option!  The bike image is from Morgan's Art World.  You have two weeks to complete this challenge and a chance to win some digis!  I colored the bike with markers, and added various embellishments, including 3 green shiny dots in the top left - hard to see in the photo..  The panel right behind the bike is actually duck tape.  It adds a bit of texture without being bulky.
