Beccy's Holiday Challenge - e

With my lack of ambition as well as time, I am finding myself doing more very simple cards.  I have one of those unending books of cs from Card Craft, and need to use those materials  The edging is embossed as is the background blue cs.  I also used embellishments.

The Crafter's Cafe - Challenge 254 - Just for Fun

The current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is just for fun - let us see your newest creations.  I really like vintage images, and selected this one from TLC for a card for my sister - she has 2 or 3 of the most modern sewing machines, for quilting but probably learned on one similar to this.

On a personal note - I am asking for your prayers.  I have started another round of chemo for endometrial cancer.  So far I have not had side effects which is a blessing.  Unfortunately I have some other health issues and must take a med that makes me very tired, and takes away my ambition - hence I have been mostly MIA the past few months.

Crafter's Cafe Oct 1 challenge -- anything goes

Tou have until Oct, 4 to post your entry for the current Crafter's cafe challenge - anything goes, once again.  Check out the blog to see the varied interpretations of this cute image, Two Little Mice by alldressedup.  I used mostly purple for the background.  The DP, sequins and fiber are all from my stash.  I used a watercolor wash to color.

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #251 seasons

This card is about 5 x 7.  I used this digital image from Eureka - Matthew 2:1-2.  The challenge for the rest of the month at the Crafter's Cafe is "seasons", so I chose the Christmas season.  You might even try food seasoning like salt and pepper.  As you can see, I have used several layers.  Stars and Scripture begin with SThings I love include the Scripture, Washi tape, and patterned paper.  I also really like die cuts.  This die is from a set from Peachy Cheap.  I layered the yellow and black,, but must admit it is a challenge to adhere skinny letters!

I know Blogger is changing, and I do not do well with change, so I hope the following links will work.

Crafter's Cafe challenge #250 - ATG

Please join us this week for the Anything Goes challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  I selected a free digital image from my files - from TLC.  This is a birthday card for my sister in law (shhh. #83).  She was a teacher, so the book theme is appropriate.

Happy Birthday, Nora Dorothy ~ Crafter's Cafe Challenge #249

The new challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is to include dots and/or stripes.  I found someof each in an old Debbie Mumm collection.  Our first (and so far, only) great grand child will be one in November. so I am actually ahead of the game!  While our grandson completes his med school residency they are living near a beach in Florida, so this tropical theme is quite appropriate.  We obviously have not been able to see her in person but we see a lot of photos and videos on Facebook.
Some of you may recall that I am not coloring much due to macular degeneration, but I did dust off the Prismas for this one.  I added the Cuttlebug number 1 backed by a couple of die cut flowers.
Please join us over the next couple of weeks for this challenge at the Crafter's Cafe..  I am sure you have some dots or stripes you can use!
Remember the limit of ten challenges entered in addition to the Crafter's Cafe challenge.

Crafter's Cafe challenge #247 - male

This cutie is a digi called Puppy Love - Heart String from Bugaboo,  There are several male dog lovers in our family so for me it is definitely a masculine card!  I you look closely you might see paw prints on some of the circles!  The hearts are colored with markers, and I used a Spellbinder die for the mat.  I hope you will join us at the current Crafter's Cafe challenge to do a masculine card.  You have until 5 A.M.  EDT July 29 to enter.  You may enter as many as 5 times, but remember - no more than 11 total challenges per card to be eligible for the draw.

Happy birthday, Terry ~ Crafter's Cafe DT card for challenge #246

The challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is Anything Goes.  You have two weeks to enter, but be sure to enter no more than 10 other challenges,  I selected this adorable image from Sheepski.  I need a card for our son-in-law  He is working at training a puppy named Harriet.  The breed is wrong, but I copied the coloring from a photo we have.  I hope he enjoys the effort!  The strips are Washi tape  I distressed the edges of the layers, and applied some ink directly from the ink pad to the beige layers.

For Betty

Once again I used a favorite image from Beccy's Place for a sympathy card.  I like the simplicity of this silhouette - and since my eyesight is deteriorating, I tend to choose images that do not need coloring. The watercolor bg CS has shades of green, blue and purple.  A strip of washi tape and lacy ribbon complete the sketch.

Anoher sympathy card = for Marge

Marge lost her husband to leukemia - just 18 days after diagnosis.  He was 89, so lived a long and very blessed life.  I wanted to recognize their deep faith as I made this card.  I used washi tape and a Spellbinder die cut cross as embellishments.
I have several copies of this image in my folder but have lost track of the origin.  If you recognize it, please let me know.\

Crafter's Cafe challenge - Things with Wings

Penguins are a personal favorite.  We have been fortunate enough to have visited several sites in the southern hemisphere with large penguin colonies - they are so fun to watch.  This guy looks pretty proud of his catch!  The pre-colored image is from Dr. Digi.  The current challenge at the Crafter's cafe is things with wings.  We hope you will join us   I used a scrap of patterned paper to represent the sea, and some sheer orange ribbon as well as a narrow ribbon for the bow = both in orange to match the feet and beak.  The sentiment is from an acrylic collection, and I used a metal charm as an anchor.

The current chalenge at the Crafter's Cafe is anything goes - I hope you will join us!  My image is Baseball Bear by All Dressed Up.  i used pastel chalk to add some color.  The strip is Washi tape; Labels die cut, fussy cut the bat and foot of the image; sentiment from a long time possession - Cuttlebug die. Beccy's challenge for the Reed family

Details to follow - and here they are.  I again used an image from Beccy's Place.  This card will go to the family of our daughter in law.  Her 90 year old father passed away with complications from pneumonia - not the virus.  He had been in relatively good health so this was unexpected.  The simple Swiss Dots embossing folder works well with this image.  I added ribbon and a bow.

Our friend Paul passed away recently.  It is a sad time anyway, and more so right now as families have not been allowed to visit hospitals.  The simplicity of this image by Beccy has always appealed to me, and I like the black and white.

Congrats on earning your PHD, Melissa

Our great niece just earned a PHD - what an achievement!
I had a piece of black cs that I had previously used for an oval cutout.  It was just the right size and shape, so I used it as a frame for the starry patterned paper.  The sentiment is a strip of patterned paper, and the gold stars are acrylic.

2020 - Non-graduation for Evan

Our great nephew (or is it grand nephew?) is a 2020 graduate.  I was able to use paprs and embellishments from my stash.  The Congrats is part of one of the first Cuttlebug die I ever purchased - many years ago!    I used an unknown die to cut the base for the tag.
Congrats to all the graduates who have been experiencing such a difficult time in recent weeks.

Crafter's Cafe Challenge #241 - DT card

This is my Design Team card for the May 1 challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  The challenge is Anything Goes, and I selected this cute pre-colored digi called Budding Love from the Creative Bug.  I appreciate the availability of pre-colored images.  Injections are helping slow the macular degeneration, but I don't see well enough to color very well!  The sentiment is a digi from Eureka.
Check out the Crafter's Cafe site, and join us for this two week challenge!  Remember to limit your total challenges to ten.
I like this image as it will be  a fun one to use for anniversary cards - I send a lot of them and it is nice to have a fresh idea!

Leah's request

Our granddaughter is an admissions counselor for the U of No. Colorado.  She asked if I could make some cards using a school logo.  I am always happy to fill requests - she will have some unique cards to use to touch base with colleagues and prospective students.  Now I just need more time to craft!  The colored logo is from the UNC web site.  I will use a variety of designs.

Crafters Cafe # 239 - Anything Goes

We hope you will join us for the current Anything Goes challenge at the Crafters Cafe.  I selected t with the included verse.is image from Bugaboo for a number of reasons.  First of of all, it is a lovely image. and is so versatile,  With my deteriorating vision, it is great to have an image that can be used "as is".
It feels good to be back, after I have taken time to address some medical issues, including chemo and radiation.

Guest Designer - Stick it Down

Thanks to the team at Stick it Down for selecting me to be a guest designer for January.  They provided a great sketch, and this is my card.  I just received a cute packet of birthday items from Try Stampin on Tuesday - perfect for a card for our daughter-in-law.  I added a swirly circle die cut from Memory Box.  Check out the January posts at Stick it Down here.  You have until the end of January to enter using the sketch for the month.

A snowy thanks

This is for a grandson and his wife who live in Alaska.  I thought this would be appropriate for them!  One of my goals for the year (again) is to make a bit of a dent in my stash of images and other supplies.  And once again I did not keep track of the origin of this cute snowman!  He is trying to keep warm with that scarf!  The die cut is from an older Cuttlebug set.  I added a bit of glitter to the snow..some of it just looks like blobs on the screen!

Craafter's Cafe challenge 234

Since I live in Arizona, I could not resist this image from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  It is from a collection called Chasing Rainbows, and the sentiment from a set named Cotton Candy.
I used a mix of embossing powder over the dry embossed cs to try to creeate a rusty look to back up the desert scene.  I hope you will check out our challenges at the Crafter's Cafe - for a chance to win some great digis.  This time, the theme is Keep it Simple.  Our challenges run for two weeks.  Hope to see you there!

Another anniversary lighthouse

Another version of a previous card -for another late anniversary greeting.  This couple also enjoys RV travel along the Oregon coast - and so do we.  This is such a lovely vintage picture - a freebie from TLC.  It was new to me to make these cards.   The sun is die cut from what was probably my first Cuttlebug purchase all those years ago -from an alphabet set I think is called Olivia.  I tried to die the edges of the image with coffee - did not turn out too well!

Vintage light house

I was late with an anniversary greeting - so thought this was appropriate.  I used a lovely vintage light house scene from TLC - great freebie!  The recipients enjoy travel along the Oregon coast - lots of light houses to see!  NEW:  though the image is vintage, I just got it from the TLC FB page.  I also used a gold sprig for the first time.  The circle cuts are Spellbinder dies.
