This is my wish that all of you will have a blessed Easter. We rejoice in the news of the Resurrection of Jesus. Our plans are to have Easter breakfast served by the youth of our church and attend the festive services. Hubby is not able to travel, but his pain has eased some what so he should be able to take part in these activities - we are so grateful for these blessings. Our family is scattered, but we have enjoyed many family visits over the past couple of months.
This card (and one similar) is already in the mail. I used the image a couple of years ago, but am happy to use it again. Both the image and sentiment are from QKR Stampede. I embossed the teal background, and added a bow. Brown and green complete the image. The DP strip is DCWV Garden Party. Sorry for the very bad photo - am not sure why the flowers have such a washed out look. This card is already on its way, so I can't re-do it! I wanted to make a very special card for our daughter's 60th birthday. (No, I can't believe it! And, yes it does make me feel a bit older - but she hasn't stopped having another birthday each year!) This is a front-step card - I was inspired when I saw this beauty - Cheribdesigns. However, I am sure I did not correctly follow her instructions. The stamp is one by Northwoods - a yard sale purchase for 25 cents! The sentiment die is by Sizzix, and the bunnies, butterfly and flowers from a selection of no-name dies. I made the base so it opens from the right side, with a computer generated verse inside. This card could illustrate a pastime of gardening - or is it sitting by the mailbox waiting for my latest stamp order? These delicate blossoms, together with shades of purple, remind me of spring and Easter. The stamps are by Verve; Washi tape, a glittery purpleflower, some gems, twine and DP by the Paper Studio complete the card. The mats for the card and the circle are also purple. I used Spelbinder circle dies. This week the SplitCoastStampers Tea Potters will send cards to a 16 year old special needs girl who is battling major illnesses, and needs some encouragement. If you are interested in sending cards to individuals in need of cheer, you are welcome to join us here. Sketch: VLV Sketches Spring: Simon Says Stamp Monday Cuttlebug Mania. The challenge this week at the Crafter's Cafeis to use flowers that have some type of hand made component. I made mine using an EK Success punch with 3 flowers. I cut in different colors, and added gems. The challenge at the Crafter's cafe is open until the end of the month. Check out the inspiration by the DT members, then join us for the challenge.
The image is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy, colored with Prismas. The paper (double sided) is by Stampin Up - I thought one side looked like the streets for the mail truck! I used gold mesh ribbon and an embossed bg to finish the card. This is to go to the brothers of a young girl having heart surgery - based on the Tuesday Teapot party at Splitcoaststampers. Dearie doll image, papers by Paper Studio, Cuttlebug "hi" die, Die Namics baseball die.

This week, the destination for SplitCoastStampers Teapot Party is 5 year old Payson. She has alrady had 2 heart surgeries and faces more. The challenge is to use a border (an embossed Darice sentiment). She likes purple and cats - and of course the hearts (various dies) represent her surgery. The image is by Dearie Dolls, colored with water color pencils. I added some sequins - usually a favorite of little girls! I have trouble arranging items at random - they just don't look right! Once again, we invite you to participate in the weekly Anything Goes challenge at QKR Stampede. You may enter up to 3 times by Thursday at 6 p.m. EST. Winners receive images from the QKR Stampede - there is also a winner for using QKR/Eureka images, with more images available for winners.
I selected this image from Eureka (sister company to QKR Stampede) called Stars and Stripes balloons. I am going to contribute some cards to a local group called Hearts for the Troops. A navy mom sends many birthday cards each month to her son's buddies. This week they are going to pack up gift packs of plastic eggs and candies - a lot of sailors are going to get some sweet treats!
I used a Spellbinder scalloped rectangle die cut to back the balloon image. The sentiment is also from Eureka, and the Celebrate panel is a colored sticker from Creative Imaginations. This time I colored with a red fine point Sharpie. I used the sharpie and gel pens on the sentiment. No, old stuff day does not refer to yours truly - at least, not for this challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.!
Rather, it is an opportunity to recycle - or repurpose, or upcycle -
however you refer to it. The challenges run for two weeks, and you may
enter up to 3 times, with a maximum of 10 challenges entered. We hope
to see you - I know you have some old stuff in your stash to recycle.

original ideas there! Share your ideas with us!
I have used an image from a set by Sparkle n
Sprinkle - called Stained Glass. The set comes with two floral images
in both pre-colored and black and white versions as well as sentiments.
This is the hand colored image from the set. My recycled item is the gold mat - I cut it from the pouch containing a packet of coffee - from a motel stay a couple of years ago. Yes, I save stuff to use on cards! You can also see a tiny bit of a strip of gold - it is the negative from a sheet of sticker strips. For the background I sponged ink on the Tim Holz embossing, and used a piece of DP to look like a grassy bg. The sentiment is aso from the Stained Glass set. This is the precolored version. For the recycling I used a rose colored piece from a bakery box - and it is truly old stuff, as it has been in my recycle drawer for a few years. I cut it with Spellbinder oval dies. The gold strip is also a type of recycling, as it is the negative part of a sheet of stickers. Now let's see what you can come up with.
