DT Card #2 for Crafter's Cafe - Old Stuff Day

No, old stuff day does not refer to yours truly - at least, not for this challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.!  Rather, it is an opportunity to recycle - or repurpose, or upcycle - however you refer to it.  The challenges run for two weeks, and you may enter up to 3 times, with a maximum of 10 challenges entered.  We hope to see you - I know you have some old stuff in your stash to recycle.  For some great ideas, visit the blog to see what my fellow team members have used - there are some very original ideas there!  Share your ideas with us!
I have used an image from a set by Sparkle n Sprinkle - called Stained Glass.  The set comes with two floral images in both pre-colored and black and white versions as well as sentiments.
This is the hand colored image from the set.  My recycled item is the gold mat - I cut it from the pouch containing a packet of coffee - from a motel stay a couple of years ago.  Yes, I save stuff to use on cards!  You can also see a tiny bit of a strip of gold - it is the negative from a sheet of sticker strips.  For the background I sponged ink on the Tim Holz embossing, and used a piece of DP to look like a grassy bg.  The sentiment is aso from the Stained Glass set.

This is such a lovely card and I appreciate the inspiration to repurpose and recycle! I love the stained glass effect and think that it matches the sentiment so well. The gold gives it a really elegant feel and the whole thing turned out perfectly! Thank you for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
