Experimenting with Tri-fold Nativity by AI

This uses a new set, Nativity,  from Art Impressions - a prize that I just won.  It includes 4 stamps and 2 dies.  You see the 3 layers in the view above - the main stable and sentiment, the inner manger, and the baby revealed in the last view.  The two dies create openings to show the inner layers.
I used chalk and stencils for a background - in subtle colors.

QKR Stampede DT card Anything Goes challenge #306

Once again the weekly challenge at QKR Stampede is Anything Goes.  Join us here by 6 p.m. Friday, with up to 3 entries, and you have an opportunity to win digi images from the shop.  There is a separate category for QKR/Eureka images, and for non-QKR.  This week I used the image I Corinthians 13:13 - I am not sure if I will use it for a wedding or anniversary card.  I had a bit of Anna Griffin paper to use - very elegant looking, I think!

 Sadly, this is my last DT card for QKR Stampede.  I have enjoyed a long stint  first with Eureka and then with QKR Stampede.  A special thanks to Karal and the rest of the team for their support and encouragement.  On a personal note, I am having to step aside because of a deterioration of my eye sight.  I have been diagnosed with macular degeneration for several years.  Until just recently it was the lesser dry type.  Now I have the "wet" version in one eye.  Over a period of a couple of months I have noticed a marked change.  There is a considerable amount of distortion - wavy lines, missing bits, blurriness.  I can no longer do a decent job of coloring images, and it is a challenge to read and comment.  I will be taking a series of shots, which may slow the progress of the damage to my eye.  If anyone has any personal experiences with this condition I would welcome your comments.  Needless to say, this is a very discouraging diagnosis.  I am relying on prayer and the skill of my doctors to preserve as much vision as possible.

Christmas '18 recycled

I used both the sentiment and image from an old Christmas card combined with flocked snowflake DP and a starry embossing folder.  The ribbon is glittery and the DP has a shiny bg.  I was going to add glitter but since it is being sent to Hearts for the Troops I skipped the glitter - that is usually a
 no-no for the military.  The circle die is from Spellbinders.

This is another card I will donate to a local group called Hearts for the Troops.  The organizer, a Navy mom, sends birthday cards to her son's shipmates.  I wish I had time to make more!  This is a Dearie Doll colored digi.  The vertical stripes are Washi tape, the horizontal ones are ribbon, and I used Spellbinder circle dies.

DT card for QKR Stampede, anything goes

For our weekly challenge I have used an image called "Duck" and the accompanying sentiment - from QKR Stampede.  Please join us - you may be a winner and earn some images!  The deadline is 6 p.m. EDT Thursday.
I used a little chalk to add some color to the duck, but I mostly left it the way it printed.  The papers are from my stash  I added a sparkly piece of cord.  The die cuts are Spellbinder circles.

The Crafter's Cafe challenge #198 - Lots of Layers

 

This is my card for challenge #198 at the Crafter's Cafe.  Please join us during the next two weeks. The theme is lots of layers, and this sketch is perfect.  In some spots, there are 9 layers.  I used papers from my stash, and a piece that is probably upholstery trim for the corner squares.  That adds some nice dimension.  The image, Drummer Boy, is from one of our sponsors - Cute as a Button. The sentiment is a part of the image.

I am determined to upcycle several of the Christmas cards I have been saving.  Unfortunately, I am also addicted to sketch challenges, and many of the sketches do not work well with the shapes of cards I have.  So when there is one that works, I want to jump at the chance!  This is a sort of spotlight technique - after I cut the oval I decided that I could use the rest of the image for a background - bonus!!!  The card base is actually a double sided piece of cs  The stars are punched, and I added gold cord.

For a sailor

I have been giving some cards to a local group called Hearts for the Troops.  A navy Mom most recently "adopted" an entire navy ship - sending care packages and cards. One of the sailors should enjoy this.  I hope to have a few more cards for her to send for birthdays as well as some to include in the care boxes.  For this card I used a pre-colored Dearie Doll digi, embossing by Cuttlebug, washi tape, a bit of pattern paper, and die cuts by Spellbinder.

Challenge #303 - Anything Goes

This card is already in the mail - our son-im-law's birthday is Saturday.  He loves to grill and does a good job - this image suits him so well!  The always Anything Goes challenge at QKR Stampede runs from Friday morning through Thursday at 6 p.m. EDT.  You may enter as many as 3 times.  There is a winner for using an image from the QKR shop, and another winner for others.  We look forward to seeing your great creations!

The image is called BBQ Grilling - image and sentiment are both from the QKR Stampede shop.  I had some fun gingham DP from Paper Pizzazz, and an extra 3-D ant sticker to use. The backing is the Cuttlebug HB folder. and I added a couple of strips of Washi tape.

Once again, the QKR Stampede weekly challenge is anything goes.  Come join us for a chance to win some of the great images available at their shop.  My choice this week is "Bethlehem with Verse",   I am always looking for something to express the celebration of the first Christmas - as well as an image I can use for multiple fairly quick cards.  I selected the QKR Stampede image "Bethlehem with verse" as well as one of several Merry Christmas sentiments found in the QKR/Eureka shop - in a variety of fonts.  We hope you join the fun - you may enter as many as 3 times before 6 p.m. on Thursday.  
To complete the card I used red cs dry embossed with stars (Cuttlebug), a gold gift bag recycled for the frame,  and a piece of gold twine.  (Note:  the metallic gold does not look gold here on the screen, and the stars are much more visible IRL.)

QKR Stampede - Challenge 301
DT card - Anything Goes 

I seem to be on a run of doing bright cards - not my usual style, but the colors seemed to fit this image.  This is for challenge #301 at QKR Stampede.  We hope you will join us with a maximum of 3 entries - if your card is a winner you could select this or other images.  There are 2 winners - one for using a QKR Stampede or Eureka image, and the other for any image.  The deadline for entries is 6 pm Thursday, EST.

This image combines a sentiment with the image - you will find it in the shop under the title  "On my heart".  It is also available without the verse - called Butterfly and sunflowers.  This is perfect for so many occasions when you want to remind some one you are thinking of them. The image was colored with Prismas.  I used patterned papers from my stash; violet cs for mats; my Victoria embossing folder;  sheer raspberry ribbon from Pizzazz Aplenty; shiny rhinestones and a die cut butterfly from my collection of pre-cut items.  The butterfly and flowers certainly remind me of summer!

QKR Stampede Anything Goes challenge - DT card

This is another fun image from QKR Stampede - and one that worked perfectly for a birthday card for hubby.  I used a QKR sentiment for the inside of the card, with a strip of washi tape for trim.  The card is finished with a left over bright DP, twine, and a highlighted bit of the Cuttlebug  birthday embossing folder.

Crafter's Cafe DT card for challenge #196 - For a Child

We hope you will join me and the rest of the amazing DT at the Crafter's Cafe for this challenge - for a child.  You have until the end of the month to post your entry - and to have a chance to win some fun images!  My image, called Spring Cleaning, is from  Scrap N Dipity.  I colored her using Prismas, and found some craps of very bright DP to display her.  I used the negative of the Happy Birthday die for the greeting.

Method:  I like this idea for the right edge of the card.  As per sketch, I punched the scallops.  I wrapped a length of Washi tape (I used 3/8 inch wide) all around the inside edge of the card - so it adds interest to both the inside and the back of the card.
